    1650 ignition

Just a couple of suggestions, rather than spend money. 1) Buy better quality points? (it s usually the heel that wears down). 2) Lubricate the distributor cam - there should be a lubrication pad bearing on the distributor cam?

Oliver Hart Parr 70 any of you have one?

As an aside, does anyone know how Bill s Oliver 90 puller turned out (with 5" or 5.125" pistons)?

    Oliver OC 3 Engine Work

They would start by checking plugs, engine breathing. Compression check would likely confirm suspicions, if necessary.

    Co-op E3 spark plugs

I wouldn t. I would retain the good kit and only replace if/as necessary. Old kit was likely better quality than modern-day manufacture.

    rear pto bearing oliver 550

I measure them (accurately). Usually enough to source a bearing replacement, given details of the operating environment. If not, I take the old bearing to my local bearing supplier who can do the identification and sourcing for me. Oliver specialist-suppliers can usually help.

    1650 Gas

Or it has been run on a fight light load for long periods. Same cure. Checking plugs first might be better than loading it heavily, before finding one cylinder gives out big time. John Deere had problems with high oil consumption on new tractors - not run-in under a sufficient load...

    Heating oil

What do you call heating oil? Gas oil or kerosene? The latter will not be apprpriate.

    How heavy, tractor and loader?

No idea, but two questions: Are they wheel weights fitted at the rear? Are the tyres loaded? I would guess a heavy duty loader with all the bracketry, pump, oil reservoir, wheel weights and loaded tyres it could easily be the best part of a couple tonnes over the published weight...

    1650 Oliver diesel

Do you mean there is no reserve? I ve won bids where my bid was not the highest, too. Lots of automotive bids are just shilling bids.

    Oliver 440 Oil Pan Removal

I would expect so. I don t think I ve come across many (even any) engines where that id not possible. Do you know of any (other than a late registered car, possibly)?

    Oliver 18-27/18-28 Valves????

Back during and after WWII valves were rebuilt and refaced - as new replacements were unobtainable. Somewhere, I have the data sheets for repairing/servicing a lot of old machinery. Hard facing was the order of the day, for KD models with hardened exhaust seats, to build up the valve heads...

    Exhaust/intake gasket?

So can I, but I would mill off the majorityof metal to be removed and finish to the nearest tenth of a thou. (if necessary) on the surface grinder. Just different machines for different applications.

    Exhaust/intake gasket?

Milling can remove a mm or more at each pass, if necessary. A surface grinder generally takes off far less each pass (mine, which is relatively small - 18" x 6" with manual traverse - is best at less than 0.02mm per pass). This post was edited by oliver90owner on 08/06/2023 at 01:28 pm.

    88 cam timing gasoline

One tooth on the crank sprocket or cam gear? First would make twice the difference. I somehow doubt it would improve anything.
