    Ok! Tried using a spackle/putty spreader. That did kind of work but it wasn’t too effective.

    Got an unwanted exhaust pipe paint job… Forgot to remove the tape that was on it. Stuff has the consistency of paving tar! Anyone know how to remove it?

    What terminal of the coil do I hook the jumper wire up to? One has a yellow (to alternator) and black wire and the other has just a black wire.

    Would cleaning the wires with emery cloth or something similar help remove the corrosion? I understand the corrosion may be not just on the outside of the wire.

    Ok. Thanks for all the help! I will clean things up and test them now that I know what is going on. How do I test the common wire that feeds into the switch? That one is in worse shape than the other wires.
