    Always hurting myself

I stepped on a four inch ring shank about twelve years ago when the neighbors cattle got out and it was dark. In the process of trying to pull the 2x4 it was in out of my work shoe, I stepped on it again. Got a shot that day and in a week I could walk without too much pain again.

What is the oldest tractor you have driven

Can't remember the exact year, but it was about a 1935 Oliver Hart Parr 18-27. It was before they called the same tractor the 80.

White 2-105 through Workhorse 125 Knowledge

2-135 series 3 and larger all had park in the transmission using the same lever that shift the gears. All the 100 and Workhorse series had the same. 2-88 and 2-110 used a hand brake set up like the 2-105, but the lever was in the side console and more user friendly.

listening to a radio while working

I don't listen to the radio like I used to. When I haul silage all day for the neighbors I usually have classic rock from the 80s on because that's what I grew up with. Sometimes I'll turn on modern hard rock, I might be in my mid 50s but still like to rock. I refuse to listen to any talk radio...

White 2-105 through Workhorse 125 Knowledge

I have a 2-85, 2-88, 2-135 series 3, and a pair of 100s. My favorite is the 2-88. It is just a nice driving tractor. Only advantage I see with the Cummins over the Perkins is cold starting. The Cummins do take more fuel though. I actually think the Perkins are more gutsy than the 5.9 Cummins. If...

    White 2-155 over/under question

I grew up driving Olivers and still own five Whites. Guess this is the first time I have heard of adjusting an over/under. L have had a few taken out to get fixed, but never had one adjusted. Maybe somebody smarter than me can add more info.

    Obsolete Harvestore/Upright silos

I have three Havestores I no longer use. Two 20x80s, and a 20x42. I talked to the County Assessor and they took them off my taxes. However I did lease one out for ten years to the local technology company and they installed wireless internet radios on it that feed internet to most of the farms...

    Sunday Harvester

Neighbors I work for have a head like that on a JD 8500. We usually go between 3.5-5 mph taking eight rows. We pull 18 ft wagons with 200+ HP MFWD tractors. Drive through bunkers and it takes 30 seconds to empty wagon and you're racing back to the field. When bunker gets more than six feet in...

Whats the threshing capacity difference between an IH 14

I believe the 1620 only had a 20 inch diameter rotor. 1440-2366 had a 24 inch rotor. The 80s had a 30 inch, which I believe all the newer CaseIH combines have. If you combine beans, go with the 24 inch rotor or larger. I still run a 1440.

    White 2-135 Value

As it sits, not knowing anything about it I'd say $5,000-6,000. However, it looks like an 81 model that is not beat up, it just doesn't know what the inside of a shed looks like. The bottom of the cab is in really good condition compared to most of them that were manure spreader queens. Some...

    Three British beauties

You really did a good job! They really look nice, even with that set of fenders.

    Welcome To MICHIGAN

I'm in SEMN. We had 80s all week, now we have 10 inches of snow with 40mph wind. I have 3 ft deep drifts this morning. First time I ever plowed snow with a sunburn! A few guys planted corn all week, most held off. The guys who did plant are nervous this morning. Supposed to get in the low 20s...

Looks like I'm an Oliver man now

Welcome to the club. I hope it treats you well. Just try and remember, they shift easier in under drive.

Just heard some brought $176.50 at a local sale barn today.

    High priced 2-105

Looks to me like it originally had a cab and it was removed and fenders added. That hurts it for collector value since it wasn't a factory open station.
