2255 or 2-105 Cool vs Practical

If you already have a couple 1850s, then a White 2-105 would make another of practically the same tractor. The FWA would be a huge plus though. If it were me, I would go for the 2255. Lots more power, and it would allow you to get the bigger equipment that you seem to want in order to grow your...

    930 case....what's it worth

I would say it is always nice to have some extra horsepower. Plus it is more fun to have two or three old tractors instead of having one new one. Just my 2 cents. 3,000 for a 930 is not a bad deal. Thats a big tractor for haying, and it is also heavy but they are tough tractors.

Looked great! My favorite pictures in the article were of the working tractors. Can't beat an 1850d.

    JD 4630

if you are that familiar with the Oliver's, step up to a White 2-105 or 2-135. Very similar to the Oliver's and much cheaper than the Deere's.

Do you by any chance have a facebook account? There is an Oliver facebook group with like 4,000 or so members. Stuff that is posted on there seems to sell pretty well. If you don't have a facebook I could put it on for you if you can even just send some pictures and your email, location...

    Investments 2014

Yeah and it is easy to invest in a mutual fund that imitates (beta of 1) the S&P 500. Pretty much the only year gold or guns would win would be during a heavy recession.

    Oliver 1650 Diesel Starting Problem

the 1650/1655 are known for starting rough. Even brand new they were not a tractor that started on the first crank. You can adjust the valve protrusion and make sure it is set to specs. That helps a lot. Other than that, there are gear reduction starters they make for Olivers and those help...

    oliver 88 diesel with turbo

as stated below the 1950T was the first Oliver with a turbo. Other Oliver's with a turbo were the 1855, 1955, 2150 and some of the 3208's in the 2255's.
