    Is this 1850 really a 1750?

I just drove it today and the noise wasn't bad. Has me confused. I hear the shaft rotating, but no rumble to speak of. It shifts fine and goes well. Bummer about that no direct problem. I seem to know that type of situation all too well. I'll put off the pto search for a little bit, but...

Ding Ding Ding! Ties it all together for me. Now to find those parts. Anybody got thoughts? New?

Not the plan. Gear up and throttle down. Set the tach to about 1300. Makes for a more peaceful day. My rotary is a 4 blade 7 foot and generally isn't much of a load. I just don't know if a diesel 310 works well enough down at that rpm. I could see it going either way. Sounds like people have...

    Is this 1850 really a 1750?

I was under the impression that the 540 shaft wouldn't let the unit shift to 1000? I don't remember where I saw that. YouTube i think. Showed the two shafts side by side. I remember thinking you could cut down the 540 to let shifter engage the 1000 position, and that possibility started this...

Yeah I'm figuring on having to add a tie rod notch somewhere. Some of the front axle bits, they don't look so good. Has me concerned about what needs replaced. And trying to adjust it for plowing may be really difficult. Sorry for all the hubbub about the pto. I have a plain 540. I want to...

Okay, got it. Just like a Cub. Direct shaft up top. No. Wasn't thinking about that. They sell those pto shaft adapters to go on the normal 1000 to make it a 6 spline. Woohoo! Slow the motor and cruise that sickle bar! From the sound of it here, the motor might have trouble responding to load...

That little tidbit helps a lot. That's exactly what it does. I feel better about it.

I didn't have that last video yet. Good stuff. Does the 1000 turn opposite? I've never used one.

Good to know. Mine is just 540 right now. Would like to be able to run 1000 (with an external 540 adapter) at slow rpm. For the usual reason. Light work stuff. It's a potential future project kinda thing. I assume there is a bit of open heart surgery involved?

Saw that just recently :) he does nice work. There is another that talks to the noise problem, but it's a piece in the middle of a long video and I can't find it again. It's saved, just buried... and I don't remember who did it. There's like 45 videos in the list. The shaft was a culprit...

I saw the brake parts, they seem inexpensive. :) Hopefully 9 cans of brake cleaner will do a magic act Lol, but it's good to know they are out there. I do like the easy access. Also, just received my 1750 parts manual! Took a while, but it is an original and readable and I'm happy with that...

Yes the two speed seems to work very well. No slippage so far. Positive shifting, coasts as expected. It was the main reason it was bought. Some extra size was a plus. And it was $4500 delivered. The under drive is a little disappointing. Would have liked a bit bigger speed change. I am...

Great stuff guys. Happy to hear. I kinda wondered about the low price situation. Either they are really common, or really blow up a lot. Valve protrusion, a compression boost? My oil pressure is okay at the moment, but the block hasn't been hot yet. I wanna say it runs 50 down to 35. Don't...

Well, that is some good news. Not a fan of noise. What upgrades are involved? This engine smokes a bit of blue. I see a major kit listed at $1200ish. No plans at the moment, cause life is happening.

Well, lots of things confuse me. It has been identified as a1750. And the amount of info that I know about green/ white machines is somewhere between jack and diddly.
