    Mystery White 2-105 (Oliver 1850?)

The 2-105 I bought new in February of 1975 had green paint showing thru the black on the rear end and axle housings. When I sold it at my retirement in DEC 2018

The alternator a 1973 Freightliner was a positive ground as well as the starter too. Been there done that, kept me on my toes for several years.

    Re: 2255

I had a 3208 in a 4-150 White that didn't make 1200 hours( thats correct 1200.) before it self destructed both of the back rods came out the side of the block at about 1500 RPMS going down the road. Neighbor used them in floater trucks with limited success.

    Oliver 60 Clutch questions

Take that one bolt out and pull the belt pulley OFF, otherwise it will be a bear to drive. The first tractor I ever drove was a 1946 Oliver 60 Row Crop I was about 6-8 years old. Spent a lot of time setting in the seat pulling a 2x14 plow with a rope trip, and as I got a little older the 2 row...

    oliver combines?

Dads first Oliver combine was a new pull type 18, tornado blew the shed down on it the first fall he had it, next was a Self propelled 25 with only a grain head the first year, second year he got a 2 row corn head, then he traded for a new 1966 525, 13 ft and 522 2 row corn head. In 1968 I...

Dad traded for the 1st Super 55 that our dealer ever got, nice little tractor on 3x14’s and 2 row cultivator and 7 ft mounted mower When the hydraulic system worked. Problem owned it 2-3 years and traded it off because of hydraulic problems. After trading it off the dealer informed him there...

Oliver 2255 fuel filter/fuel line routing

If it was mine first thing I would do is drop the pan and check the rods and mains. The 4-150 (1974) I mentioned was a 3208 with just under 1,000 hrs when I traded for it, at a little over1100 hours the 2 back connecting rods opened the block up on both sides, only salvaged the valve covers...

    1650 hydra power chain assembly

I never lubed that chain in all the years (20+) that I owned a tractor that had the chain coupler. The main thing is use long cotter keys that reach through both pins to keep the pins from turning within the master link. If short cotter pins are used you will be walking home before to long...

Oliver 2255 fuel filter/fuel line routing

Is that a 3150 or 3208 Cat engine. My dad had a 2255 with a 3150 Cat engine and had trouble starting it every time till we replaced the electric fuel shutoff gizmo on the injection pump. I had a 4-150 for a while and never had that problem , different pump on it.. On the 3150 we had to loosen...

    880 Engine Removal

There is a set screw on that coupling that screws into a hole on the rear shaft that has to be removed before that coupling can be slid forward too. 1st thing is remove the PTO shaft ,slide it back at least 2 feet or pull it out completely, 2nd thing is don’t loose those engine bolts, there is...

    Tractors with creeper gears

If I remember right I think the DX160A Deutz-Fahr tractor that I used to have had a creeper tranny, seemed like slow-slower- and slowest .
