310a backhoe High idle and kill not working.

The shut-valve in the pump is totally hydraulic. If fuel gets air in it, the shut-off valve will not work. When you turn the key to "off", the electric solenoid collapes and allows a strong spring to push against that valve. If it has air around it, the engine will keep running and surging...

    310a backhoe high idle!!

I do think it was running out of fuel when this happened. could low fuel cause the engine to run high rpm? and also make the kill solenoid not work? is that what you are saying? and if so what is the best way to correct this?

    310a backhoe high idle!!

I understand why the govenor would cause a run high idle, but why would the kill not work? Could it just be a linkage inside that has come undone?

I have another question for you. I ran the backhoe today and i started feeling the rpm rise. I stoped the machine and found that the kill switch did not stop the engine, it slows down but does not kill it. It was very low on fuel so i added some fuel. I started it again and it wants to go to a...

Hello Jonathan I pulled the priority valve today and found that the spring loaded valve had been floating and has worn down and is now half missing, this was allowing a lot of oil to pass through and then dump back into the trans case through the 1/4 in hole at the back of the valve. I have...

    Hydraulic pump on JD 310a

Thank you to all, i will continue to try and find out why I have slow and weak haydraulics. I do get 2200psi with the output capped, so I will look for the leak downstream. I still think it might be with the priority valve. People say that they can cause slow and weak hydraulics, not sure how...
