1952 Ford F3 Marmon Herrington AWD bits

Just throwing out a picture of some pieces I finally finished on my MH Ford. Axle bumpers and oak spacers I had to reproduce. Shaft that prevents running in low range without engaging front axle. I made a new shaft and bushed the bronze brackets And there is the transfer case torque arm...

    Whitish corrosion on aluminum

If you sure it wouldn’t get into the engine, soda blast it. An air nozzle, some plastic tubing and a box of arm & hammer is worth a try. Slit the plastic tubing to fit over the air nozzle, leaving a couple inches proud of nozzle. Poke the other end into the box and pull the trigger. I have...

    Farmall A final drive slop

Thanks for the guidance. It’s not a trailer queen, but gets maybe 20-25 hours a year mowing the yard

    Farmall A final drive slop

May try that. Had a rough spindle on the front that allowed inner bearing race to turn with a little effort. I tuned spindle up with a center punch and used some bearing mount compound. Did the trick. There isn’t a lot of play in bearings. Think a guy should put in new ones since it is apart?

    Farmall A final drive slop

I must amend the above. Closer inspection shows some axial movement. Guess would be amplified to the outer circumference of the tire when mounted. You can get movement on both rear wheels. Guessing new bearings, in addition to seals, are needed.

    Farmall A final drive slop

Winter project addressing oil leaks on rear axle. Also noticed both rear wheels have “slop”. I removed the final drive on the right side. I was expecting worn bearings, but both feel tight. As in inner race doesn’t feel to have any runout. I assembled the shaft out of the housing, and...

    Cub shifter stuck

^^^^Have some gasket paper handy so you can make new ones after removing the pans. I would recommend having some cardboard or rags on rear tires and floor to catch the lube if it is filled to capacity. May have to scrape out some crud in the pans themselves. Tractor Supply has a 2 gallon jug...

1947 International KB-1 Engine Parts…or just any parts

Yes to insert bearings. You will have to determine if it is a 214 or 233. Bare knuckle binder on YouTube may be a good guy to contact. I think he goes by Yuric on binder planet.

    Farmall a speed change lever

Not sure how crucial the nub on the end of pin at end of governor shaft is, but mine was missing, so I made one from a 5/16” grade 8 bolt. Some whittling with an angle grinder and some filing with the aid of a cordless drill, there it is.

    Farmall a speed change lever

Made a jig for governor cover and bored it for bushing. 1/2”x5/8” bronze bushing fits snugly. Just have to trim it for length. Looks like 3/4” will do it. Going to make a new felt seal to install before assembly. How much should thrust spring pin intrude into cover??

    Farmall a speed change lever

Maybe some know this, but I found a company, Pilot Knob Restorations, that reproduces this lever. I was in the process of fixing mine when I got a call back from this company. Will be getting one in the mail soon. Still have to make a jig to hold the housing to bore for a bronze bushing I...

    Farmall a speed change lever

Thanks for the reply. Yes the shaft on the lever is worn badly. As stated, I’m guessing the bore is egg-shaped. I can find a bushing to fix that.
