    Back in the 60's a guy put a G JD coupled to a super 88 Oliver, he could farm faster with that rig than his brother could with a 4020. At a tractor pull there was a D jd that had a wisconsin v4 mounted up high that was belted to the fly wheel. Pete

    grim news from my farm tire supplier

    Last year 2020, I had to buy tires for my classic car, 14 inch w/narrow white walls. They are not being made anymore as all vehicles use 18,19,20 inch tires now, had to go a specialty place tires were made to order, not cheap! Pete

    My H still has cast iron pistons, got it in 1969 when I started farming was used every day, now prettied up and just does tractor rides. Pete

    Jeremy, you are not correct, DOT vehicles do get inspected at least here in Mn. I worked for Mn. Dot and trucks got inspected once a year. If one was in an accident and lawyers got involved it would not be nice. Pete

    Work boots sound off

    I have worn Red Wing pecos boots for over 50 years some of them were seconds as I live within 30 miles of Red Wing. Get new boots put them on stand in water until they are soaked clear thru, then wear them until they are dry and they will conform to your foot, and be comfortable. Pete

    If I want raw fried potatoes I have to make them myself, bacon grease is best but olive oil works and plenty of onions with them. Haven't had them for a spell. Pete

    Dehulling walnuts with a corn sheller???

    Put them in a burlap bag and drive over them roll the sack over a couple times and drive over them again works quite well. Pete
