    Starter question

Starter "went out". What does that mean??? Maybe all it needs is a new set of brushes and the commutator undercut. Maybe new bushings. If field coils and armature are ok then just rtebuild the starter with new brushes. So it actualy depends on just exactly what INSIDE of the starter "went...

    Have you ever seen this?

And i'm surprised that none of the vandors or parts suppliers havn't offered at least an engine adapter to allow some other engine to be used. I really do not like continental engines of ANY application.

    Have you ever seen this?

I'm thinking it's time to give up on the Continental engines all together and begin looking for an engine swap from some other more common and readily available and inexpensive doner vehicle. And NO, not V8's or diesels or anykind of a massive or long engine that would require alot of other...

    TO30 12v Coil?

A resistor whether internal to the coil or external is for the SOLE PURPOSE to reduce voltage to the ignition POINTS! If a full12 v is hitting the points then the points will have a somewhat shorter life span. The resistor has absolutely nothing to do with the coil itself.

    ferguson no start

Condensor is a Condensor. There is no such thing as pos or neg ground Condensor. No such thing as 6v or 12v condenser. A condenser is condenser assuming ANY gas engine application. But maybe try another condenser anyway.

    Rebuilding Cylinder Head

Easy things FIRST. try retorqueind the cylinder head bolts. If engine was rebuilt not many hours ago then should not need any head refurbishing. Check valve stem seals, especialy on intakes. Should be able to replace seals without removing head.

    Cracked Cylinder Head Replacements

USUALY IF cracked between combustion chambers then nothing to worry about. The gasket will seal it. HOWEVER, if cracked due to overheating then (usualy between combustion chambers) then u have a much bigger problem. i.e. the BLOCK is most like cracked at BOTTOM between the liners.

    TO-20 ford 9N

9N/TO parts: I have a situation here where some "mechanic" (note use of quote marks) had replaced the TE20 rear axle bearing retaindner with a 9N bearing retainer. The TE20 (same as TO20) rear axle bearing retainer is nearly IDENTICLE (i said nearly) to the TE20. It will bolt up just...

Ferguson to 35 tractor 6 to 12 volt electrical conversion

Most likely what is REALLY going here is that he wants to convert to electronic ignition of some sort. WHICHMEANS the distributor bushings are worn and causing the points to have arbitrary gap when running. Much of this 6 to 12 v conversion that so many vintage vehicle owners want is just...
