My loyalty is now in question IH vsJD

Wow, talk about a hard decision to make,I have a 41 JD H that I have been slowly restoring and always liked the green tractors, but now I have a dilemma...My father in law had 9 IH tractors from an A to a Super C,H,Super M F20 AND F30 etc. He was killed in a tree cutting incident 4 years ago and...

    JD H Brakes

Glad it worked loose.. Mine was stuck for at least the 20+ years we have it. Can't wait to get it back together and see how it runs and brakes with both sides working equally...

JD H Brakes - Need Help

Had the same trouble with mine on my 41 H. I soaked them for weeks and tried to get the right side loose, but nothing I did helped at all. I ended up removing the housing and was kinda glad I did as the RH side which was the troublesome side was apparently swamped and filled with mud. I had to...

    Otto Tegtmeyer from Kansas

I have crossed this bridge before only it was in buying Buick Gran Sports, but it will apply to this equally. It is always the buyers responsibility to research, ask for someone in the area to look at or hear run any equipment. It's their money being spent. Anyone who buys anything for any amount...

    RED JD B ?

That's just not right....A red John Deere??? Have to admit it looks out of place to me,but kinda neat.

Rear end frozen on my 1945 John Deere B (Pict's)

I would remove the rear cover and drain it that way. I did that on my H. Since you are saying it is frozen in there, removing the drain plug will only let some of the water out. What about the frozen water inside the housing? If you remove the rear cover, you can use tools and a small torch to...

    Calling all H specialists

I must have listened to my granddad as I did the same thing as described above on my H. I made sure it spun with no interference before having it all back together. I had to remove mine to clean and paint behind it as well as install the foot pedal lever.

Wife said I could get a steering wheel and seat for the H

I am located in central Pa along I-80. About 45 minutes SW of Williamsport and about 45 minutes NE of State College Pa. Takes a couple hours to get to the Finger Lake region from here. Are you a vendor?

Wife said I could get a steering wheel and seat for the H

Gotta do some quick shopping and try to get the best price and deal...Some of the dealers have good prices, but they gouge you on shipping. Anyone know of a place with the parts and reasonable ship rates to Pa??

Thoughts of getting exhaust manifold and pipe powdercoated

I mistakenly wrote Powder coating but meant to say Ceramic coated. I have seen a set of sprint car headers done in the satin black and they still look great after 5 years. I took the manifold, the pipe and flange down today and he will do it for $45 bucks. He is also doing the pedal tractor that...

Thoughts of getting exhaust manifold and pipe powdercoated

I an restoring a JD model 520 pedal tractor and it's getting blasted and powdercoated this week. Think I will take the manifold and pipe along as well to get done...

Thoughts of getting exhaust manifold and pipe powdercoated

I just don't want the ugly rusted looking manifold and pipe. The muffler is green already as well as the pipe from the manifold pipe between the muffler and manifold. I could just let them black I guess...

Thoughts of getting exhaust manifold and pipe powdercoated

In 1500* Hi heat powdercoat. My step son had it done to his Subaru WRX that is turbo'd and it's held up up for 3-4 years now. I want to get it done to my manifold and exhaust pipe and then paint it JD green so it will hold up. This is for my JD H tractor. If it holds up,I'd like to do the...

    All About H's?

The brakes can be a pain, but I thought the worst part of that was getting the hub off the axles. I did my own and for the first time ever since I have owned it (about 20 years),mine has right brakes. I replaced the seals as well as the brake springs inside and figured that saved me alot of...
