    720D pony motor water pump

Thanks for the info! I got a hold of H&J this morning and got seals and shims ordered. Funny thing is that the 70 has been sitting outside by my shop since Saturday when I put the water pump cover and new gasket on and the leak out the weep hole stopped on it's own. Not sure why, but am...

    720D pony motor water pump

Jimsmt, Did you find a seal kit for the Pony water pump? I am having the exact same issue. I need the two seals (AF2460R & AF2057R) and am having zero luck finding a place that sells them. Thanks, Pat in Montana

    JD 730

That's a great point on the propane not going bad. Gasoline is so temperamental now, you can really have issues if a tractor sits too long between start ups. I guess the "bug" hasn't bitten you as bad with only 4, I've been bitten pretty hard since 2013 and if I get this 730, it's going to...

    JD 730

Thanks for the info. So, if you take them off, you just have to re-route the wires for the headlights that are in the fenders and try and find the other headlights that come off each side of the tractor like on a 70 or 720? The reason I ask is the guy selling this said one fender is in really...

That would have made me cry if I had missed that one by $300.

    JD A Problem

I have a 48 A that was doing the exact same thing. Tried new condensor, even bought a new rebuilt carb after I had cleaned and rebuilt the one that came on it. Kept thinking it wasn't a fuel issue as every time I checked to see if there was gas in the sediment bowl-there was, but it had set for...

    JD 730

Am keeping my eye open for a 730 gas if one shows up and was curious (after looking at a lot of pictures online) if the 730's came with fenders as standard equipment, or you had to order them that way. Most pics have fenders, but a lot don't and I didn't know if someone in the past had taken...

    JD 80 Powr-Trol Question:

Bob, what I did Sunday was just leave the disk down because I had plenty of room to turn around at the ends. Didn't like to hear that awful squeal every time I lowered it. Anyway, I went out and put a 2nd hose on that disk cylinder. It was a 2 way cylinder with a vent in the top port...

    JD 80 Powr-Trol Question:

Brandon, yes that is what I have decided. 2 way cylinders or nothing. When I took the Powr-Trol housing off 2 years ago to work on the rear end gear, I cleaned it up and found that it had a 2nd pair of ports for another cylinder. The linkage was frozen and the 2nd handle had been cut off...

    JD 80 Powr-Trol Question:

Hi James, it doesn't look anything like that on the back of the 80. That's whats throwing me. I do have my 50, 60, and 2 70's plumbed in just like your pictures show. Those work well on the single acting cylinders. The 80 though, sounds like it's set up for dual acting only because it...

    JD 80 Powr-Trol Question:

No, it has a pair of levers and 4 hoses with quick couplers at the back. One handle for the first pair of hoses and the 2nd handle for the other pair. The Powr-Trol on the 80 doesn't look anything like the ones on the 50-60-70. I'll try to get a picture of it. Pat in Montana.

    JD 80 Powr-Trol Question:

I took my 80 out yesterday to disk a section of the property that had just gotten some dead trees removed. My disk has a single acting cylinder and I've pulled it with a 70, 70D, and the 60 numerous times and works great. It looks like I have to hook up two hoses (power up, power down) on the...

No. 5 mower with 3 point

I bought a No. 8 at an auction 2 years ago and it was set up the same way. Had a homemade round bar clamped in the brackets and an extended PTO shaft. A guy at the auction thought the previous owner had used it on a 520 or 620 and raised/lowered the 3 pt. lift arms to fine tune it, and then...

    720 D

Since we're on the subject of fuel transfer pumps, do they make a rebuild kit for them? I have a 70D that needs either a new pump or a kit. I would rather rebuild the one I've got, but not sure what to test, fix or replace. Pat in Montana
