    Well got it running ..... I listen to you guys better than I think. Problem is I don't remember how good I listen ... Like about how I shouldnt store the 8n over the winter with gas . So all it took to start her up was gas. LOL

    lights

    ford 8n , 12 volt conversion. Lighting is wired to battery (positive terminal) then to seperate lighting switch then out to the light other wire from light is grounded to the frame is correct?

    After ring gear instal - tractor doesn't start

    12 volt. 8n front distributor . Never needed meter before ( I'm a rookie mechanic ) been using a wiring diagram I found on line. I wired it up the way it was when it was running. Next stop harbor freight . What's it called an amp meter? Or something else?

    i replaced ring gear and reattached wiring tractor doesn't make a sound. No click or anything . Was going to replace wire harness but I got excited about my new ring gear I did not re attach lights just let the wires hang . Plan was to get tractor started then spend the colder months...

    Tractor halves back together after ring gear install. ThanksNow I need to re wire . 12 volt system. Should I buy a harness or just do it piece by piece? 12 gauge wire? There is a shutoff switch that has been added . Can I take it off or is there some reason it's best to keep ? If I remove it...

    ok so ring gear has been replaced and starter put back I just put the clutch on and I see that I need an alignment tool what do I use ? And where do I get it? 8n tractor Any position starter should be in? Thanks

    Got it off used an impact wrench worked like a charm . Kept fly wheel from turning by using a block of wood through the hole for the starter

    You have bolts I have nuts. Never seen them before the inside of them is concave like you could fit half a ball inside. Anyway there not budging!

I removed the clutch plate cover and now I need to remove the flywheel to replace the ring gear ( which is the reason for the splitting in the first place ) how do I get at it ? Is it those 4 nuts in the center that will let me get at it or is...

    Oh I know that one ! ( now) that"s the valve I didn"t use when I removed the cylinder head . What a mess.
