Stripped threads on Cub oil pan area

All. Thanks so much for the suggestions. I hope it's didn't miss anyone with my replies. It'll probably be a week or two until I can get back to the cub but will be sure to follow up. Don't hesitate to reply to my responses or any other ideas you have. Paul

Stripped threads on Cub oil pan area

560 Dennis. Thanks for the reply. They all look like original yellow pained IH bolts. Unfortunately some of the bolts heads are pretty beat up so somebody was working them pretty hard. Paul

Stripped threads on Cub oil pan area

Grandpa Love. Thanks for the reply. Interesting, I never thought about that but it makes sense. I did not replace the rear seal. The split i did was for the transmission seals. It seemed like that only one bolt is stripped but their could be more. I read that i need to be very careful tightening...

Stripped threads on Cub oil pan area

Jim, thanks for the reply. I'm not familiar with the Form a thread. Would i still have to chase the threads? I only ask because I'm not sure can align any longer than maybe a half inch long and rather not split the tractor again unless absolutely necessary. Paul

Stripped threads on Cub oil pan area

560 Dennis. Thanks for the reply. I hoping was to avoid splitting. I've only done the one split back by the transmission although that wasn't really that bad. Paul

Stripped threads on Cub oil pan area

Rusted. Thanks for the reply. This sounds like a good idea provided I can get the chaser aligned with the hole.

Stripped threads on Cub oil pan area

I replaced pistons, valves etc. in my cub loboy last year. I also replaced oil pan gasket that was leaking. About 6 months ago I replaced the transmission seal and thought would stop most of the heavy leaks. The tractor is running great but the oil pan area is still too l leaky. I recalled...

    Reconnecting the Cub

Good morning and thank you to all who provided input. I was able to get the Cub back together yesterday. I separated the tractor by about 2.5 inches and got all the bolts started as I slowly pushed the tractor back together. At about 3/4 it again would no longer close. I experimented with...

    Reconnecting the Cub

I will take more pictures but unfortunately I won't be able to get to for a few days. Thanks for the reply Rustred. Thanks for the reply. I believe I know what the crank shaft bushing is but I don't know what a brg is. I won't have access to my cub manuals for a few days. If I continue to try...

    Reconnecting the Cub

Quick update. By working through the inspection opening I was able to manipulate the disc's and the shaft using screwdrivers etc. I also needed to depress and release the clutch to help with alignment. I'm close, less than half inch split but I can't get the gap completely closed. When I turn...

    Reconnecting the Cub

Hi all, I am going to try and re-center through some combination of a long dowel, depressing the clutch and trying to align through the inspection opening. If those don't sound plausible or if there are any other suggestions let me know. I really would rather not split the tractor again...

    Reconnecting the Cub

Kevinwterry, thanks for the reply. I have tried realigning and leveling several times. I think the clutch is no longer aligned correctly internally. Thanks! Paul

    Reconnecting the Cub

Hi Used Red MN I did try that over and over. I seperated again and unfortunately it appears that the clutch is no longer correctly aligned with the flywheel. I'm not certain that I have my terms correct but you can see what I mean in the picture I attached. Thanks. Paul
