    Late A manifold / pipe connector leak

    I got a leak where the pipe connects to the manifold. What is everyone using to seal the pipe up? Thought about trying to find a donut gasket that would fit. I tried using sand paper on both ends to clean the surfaces up but it didn't help. Thanks.

    May have to pull the starter if your terminials are clean and tight. The starter has a switch on top of it that has a stud and contact and its probably bad not getting any contact. If that's not it you need to get the starter checked out it could have bad brushes or a bad armature or bad field...

    Right brake stuck on 45 JD A

    Im in the process of putting new liners on my shoes. Are you going to turn the brake drums or just clean them up? A local machine shop quoted me a price of 75 dollars each. I think im going to pass on that and clean them up with some sand paper.

    A manifold, question

    My gas manifold was broke and I bought a used gas manifold that is different from the one I had. I got the one that the exaust runner runs under the intake runner to help with frosting up. Don't remember the numbers of both but the one I got now runs fine and I don't have any frosting problems...

    late A quill housing leaking

    Thanks. I already have one brake housing removed to put on new liners on the brakes and was wanting to fix the leak while I had that side off. The quill is leaking on one side .

    Ive read a topic on this awhile back but cant find it but my quill housing is leaking. Can you pull the quill out on one side without letting the gears and shaft fall down on the differential or can you pull it out maybe a half inch or so to put some permatex in there?     I bought my studs and nuts for my A from Sharps and they were corse std threads.

    49 A starting issue solved

    I always before I start mine make sure the clutch lever is all the way back and the gear shift in neutral. Ive seen some start in gear and take off while the person standing beside it start it up trying to run over them.

    Model D Brass Carb.

    What's the DLTX Number on a D brass Carb? I can't find it stamped on there and I need to order some parts. This is a later style brass Carb made like the cast iron ones. It' on my 35 D .

    Model D missing under load

    Wouldn't hurt to put in a new condencer in it also. Mine done like yours and thought it was the fuel side I checked the fuel flow and the carb got cleaned still done the same thing. Even put in new plugs and it didn't help. I changed the condencer and that was my problem the whole time.

    Re: 51 A starter help

    I looked at their web site one time and there pretty pricy. I rebuilt 48 A starter because it was dragging. wasn't nothing to it. I cleaned up the armature put in new bushings and brushes put in a new bendix and top switch and stud. I put new 2/0 starter wire and it will whirl over real good now.
