glowing red exhaust
I had this happen. it was a sheared key, and was firing late, in the exhaust pipe. New key and proper torque solved it.- pdi man

Newbies need to tighten JD118 drive belt
I am guessing you have the L118 mower. These mowers tend to fail after a couple years of hills. I have experimented on a couple. I pulled the unit, removed the bottom cover, and cleaned the filter with carb cleaner. I then refill it with 20/50 oil and a cup of Lucas trans fixer. The only...- pdi man
