    Thanks for the replies. Thanks rustyred. I got it now. I've done it so many times now I think I could do it in my sleep. Still no start. Just cranks and burps like it wants to start...but doesn't. I'm sure I have it static timed right now. Air fuel and spark....simple right? Apparently not. =)

    Farmall 504 stuck in first gear!

    This happens to my 560 all the time. Not sure if 504 is the same, but for mine I do have to take the shifter off, push in the clutch and re-align the gears. Real easy fix. Mine has 3 rails and my trouble is that not only was the shifter tip worn, but the rails themselves. Welding up the shifter...

    Picking up the rebuild kit this week and really hoping that is my issue. I'm also wondering if I should go with a 12 volt coil and get rid of the resistor all together?

    Was plowing yesterday and after about an hour of it my 560 just died. Let it rest for about 5 minutes and she started back up but acted like she would die if I put any load on her at all.     I wouldn't do it myself I counted on it for income. Typically I would certainly agree with you regardless of income but I sort of planned on this being my "learning tractor". I used a bronze flux coated rod 120,000 psi tinsel strength. It took a couple of times and some excessive fluid loss...

    Thanks.....I'm researching how to do that now....I feel like an idiot, but I just have never had to braze before. I can weld and solder copper....so how hard can it be right? LOL =) (there's the invite for murphy's law)
