    Mr. Thinker's John Deere Almanac, 2nd Edition, shows 208 for the gas model 70 cylinder head. Also 208 block to case, 80 rods, 150 mains, and 275 flywheel.

    Flat belt where to buy

    Do you have access to the special tool that installs the splice? Don't know what your experience is with splicing but a neat, 90 degree end on the belt is important on both sides of the splice.

    To protect the pump clutch make sure the engine is OFF when engaging the pump.

    Roscoe, The gears in the pump are straight cut. It doesn't make any difference how they go in. Did you replace the packing on the rockshaft piston itself ??? Is the hose on the rake plugged into the rockshaft at the port marked "L" ??? If yes to both questions, you need to adjust the metering...

    Suggest you have a copy of the parts catalog page when you install the seal assembly on the pto shaft. There's lots of small parts that need to go on in the correct order.

    Had the same problem when I was chasing hyd oil leaks on a '48 B a long time ago. The rock-shaft housing has to be removed in order to remove the the snap ring on the front side of the housing. Once you remove the snap ring you can take out the pto shaft. The seals you want to replace look like...
