    OT---TV---internet

I don't mean to be a stick in the mud but when we moved away from town 4 years ago we dropped our cable TV and never looked back. We get 15 channels over-the-air. The antenna is in the attic over the garage and picks up everything great. Two of the channels are movie channels and 2 are video...

    Lifting and cribbing?

I planned on looking at stacking 4"x4"s in a Lincoln Log fashion until I get a stack close to the underside of the tractor with enough room for a bottle jack to fit. Then lift the tractor with the bottle jack and build up more 4"x4" around the bottle jack and maybe wedge some thinner boards...

    Wobbling cheap drill presses...

I'd wedge the chuck off, clean the taper and bore, and check the spindle runout. If it's good then try a new chuck on it unless the spindle or chuck bore was dirty. After cleaning try the original chuck after reassembly. Hopefully a new chuck will fix it.

    ford 3000

Wow! Very nice. What year is it? I took off work last week to get some stuff done around the place and spent some time with my 3000. It runs better now but I wish it looked like your 3000. Mine is a 1969 and has the muffler and tailpipe underneatch the tractor. Yep, you did a nice job.

    Lifting and cribbing?

I need some help with the bare-bones basics. What are the basics for lifting and cribbing a tractor; specifically, an MH Pony? (May as well start small.) Is there a tractor restoration book or a website that covers this topic? Or should I just use trial and error with a bottle jack and some...

    MH Pony oil pan removal?

I have the bolts out of it but now how do I get it out past the wishbone? I need to scrape and reinstall with a new gasket. (Yes, I'm very new at all this.) Thanks.

Ford 3000 water pump blocked in by radiator.

Finally got to look at it again this afternoon. It took about 10 minutes to remove the nose clip (or radiator shell as a manual called it). Then the rest was a snap. I was either misinformed or misunderstood what a guy told me a while back. Knowing him I misunderstood. Thanks a lot...

Ford 3000 water pump blocked in by radiator.

Is it a big deal to remove or just those bolts?

Ford 3000 water pump blocked in by radiator.

The hood is off but I've not removed the nose clip. (This is the first time I've worked on anything under the hood. Also, I'm not near the tractor at the moment.) How does the nose clip come off? I assume that is the part on top and in front of the hood, yes? Once the nose clip is off will...

Ford 3000 water pump blocked in by radiator.

I need to replace the water pump on my Ford 3000 but I just can"t see how to get the radiator out of the way. I"ve removed the nuts on the 2 bolts that hold the radiator in and I"ve removed the hoses. The radiator shroud is blocking removal and I can"t get to the screws to remove the shroud...
