remove hex drive 1957 ford 650 distributor

I was wondering that too. I have been using 15/40 diesel oil and getting really good pressure.

It was in the distributor but I have a new one. Question is "How did that happen?!"

remove hex drive 1957 ford 650 distributor

Update. I pulled the drive shaft out of the dist. with a pair of vice grips and a hammer. This is what it looks like: I think I'm going to try to find a piece of 1/4" hex and make a new one. (An allen wrench!) There doesn't seem to be anything that's supposed to hold it in place. If...

Ok, thanks. The distributor is back in the tractor for now but when I remove it again to replace it I will try that.

remove hex drive 1957 ford 650 distributor

Hi gang. Just popped in to ask the question as in the title: How to remove the hex drive in a 1957 ford 650 distributor. Mine seems to be stuck in and I don't want to damage it by doing something I shouldn't be doing. Is there a set screw or something holding it in? Thanks. phil n

That's a really fair price that even I could probably afford but YT doesn't ship to Canada :( . They are available other places but they often don't ship to Canada either and if they do, the shipping charges are usually astronomical. The nearest actual CNH dealer that I know of is about a 6...

That's what I was afraid of - spending money. Guess I'll keep collecting info and reading the manual until the snow melts. Thanks again for the help.

Sean, I couldn't edit my post but just wanted to confirm that that was indeed the thread I was looking at.

Right now I'm just trying to gather information because I won't be able to get to the tractor for a while. But- I bought this 650 about 3 years ago not running. $900. Got it going and have been using it quite a bit, mostly moving dirt around with the loader. After I got it going I...

Thanks Sean. It looks like it would be more trouble (for others) than it's worth trying to pursue those original pics. I have the manual, I'm sure there are other photos/diagrams elsewhere on the web, the descriptions in the thread are pretty clear and I can still pick out where the various...

Hi all - long time no see. I haven't had the time to look at the hydraulics on my 1957 650 but I might this year so I was looking at this old thread -> Posted: Wed Feb 29, 2012 10:32 am Post subject: Ford 600 hydraulics <- which looked relevant. Problem is, the photos are all blurred...

    Composting toilets

I was told that a septic system in our area could be anything up to $70,000 depending on the percolation of the soil.

New Tractor Saga is OVER, thanks for the advice!

JD's quick connect. I'm thinking it sounds something like the quick disconnects on Bobcats. The square tubing frame attaches more-or-less permanently on the tractor while each attachment gets a channel iron frame. The channel iron part then 'hangs' on the top of the square tubing and the tabs...

    Bridge Cranes value?

25 yrs old and hasn't been used for 10? My car has more than 15 yrs use and I still use it every day.
