Update. I pulled the drive shaft out of the dist. with a pair of vice grips and a hammer. This is what it looks like: I think I'm going to try to find a piece of 1/4" hex and make a new one. (An allen wrench!) There doesn't seem to be anything that's supposed to hold it in place. If... -

Hi gang. Just popped in to ask the question as in the title: How to remove the hex drive in a 1957 ford 650 distributor. Mine seems to be stuck in and I don't want to damage it by doing something I shouldn't be doing. Is there a set screw or something holding it in? Thanks. phil n -

New Tractor Saga is OVER, thanks for the advice!
JD's quick connect. I'm thinking it sounds something like the quick disconnects on Bobcats. The square tubing frame attaches more-or-less permanently on the tractor while each attachment gets a channel iron frame. The channel iron part then 'hangs' on the top of the square tubing and the tabs...- phil_n
