    Ford 2600 Lift Arm Issue

Long time member and lurker - unfortunately I have an issue with my 77 Ford 2600 gasser. I was mowing with a finish mower around a neighbors drive (no good deed goes unpunished) when I backed one of my rear wheels into a drainage ditch that I didnt see. The right rear wheel was not touching...

    Steering Shaft Repair Kit (SRK632AA)

I wouldn’t be surprised if you were sent the wrong item. My last order from here was missing items and I had a wiring harness in there that I didn’t order. It took two attempts for them to get it right. My previous order was cancelled after they sat on it for a week.

    Steering Shaft Repair Kit (SRK632AA)

This site won’t let me post the link and you don’t have private messaging enabled - but there is a very helpful tutorial for repairing the steering shaft on the 2600. If you google “steering shaft seal replacement ford 2600” it should pull up a detailed pdf file from another tractor site.

Speaking of UTF oil for these tractors...

More for me then! It does meet or exceeds those specs. It's made by Warren. You can contact them and speak with an engineer if you have concerns instead of assuming. I originally got turned on to it by some folks on the BITOG Forums.

Speaking of UTF oil for these tractors...

Tractor Supply is having a sale through tomorrow on its Traveller Preminum UTF, normally $36.99 now $24.99. I have had good luck with it and it meets most all specs.

    tractor towing safety

I have used this one from Northern Tool for a few years. It's heavy, works great and is priced fairly compared to others. I use it mainly for moving my 18' utility trailer. It's nice to be able pick it up and move it without messing with the tongue jack. I have pulled it loaded with couple...

3600 Ford Hydraulic lift arms not working

Look for a service manual. You can buy a 3rd party one on this site or order a factory service manual off of eBay. There are reprints, CDs or PDF versions. Did you check the hydraulic filter on the left side of the engine next to the pump? Also is the fluid clean or milky? For reference the...

    Rear end plug

I copied this several years ago from somewhere else and it has always helped to serve as a reminder for me:

BTW where's it parked at right now? Sounds like a deal....

Ford 5000 What a horrible machine

Take it to the Ford tractor dealer. As heartbroken as you are surely you got the 40+ year warranty.

New Eagle tilt 16 foot trailer

I have a 2600 tractor with brush hog that I haul on a 18 foot utility trailer with tandem 3500 lb axles with a 2010 F150 with the 5.4L - it has the same tow rating as your ecoboost. No issues but I would recommend a weight distributing hitch. And if your truck doesn't have it already the Ford...

Ford 3000 Head Gasket is baffling me

I forgot to add, double check and make sure your valve cover gasket isn't where the leak is coming from. Those are cork gaskets and not unusual for them to weep on the exhaust side.

Ford 3000 Head Gasket is baffling me

Have you retorqued the spark plugs? Not unusual to have to retorque something after several heat cycles. I assume you recently replaced your plug wires. I replaced mine a couple years ago and battled the same issue until I slipped the boot up the wires and made sure the ends were secure on...
