Not a Sherman. There were a number of manufacturers of auxiliary transmissions for Ferguson and Ford tractors of that era. In the second picture you can see the shift for the auxiliary transmission on the right side of the bell housing. I have a Sherman in my TO-30, its shifter is on the left side, this is another brand, maybe Howard?. It was added either by the dealer who sold the tractor or some previous owner...- pomester

1964 ford 2000 won’t move
I had that happen once... got off the tractor to close a gate and when I got back on the tractor would not move. It was the clutch. Exactly what happened to it, I do not recall. Not sure I even tried to dissect it, 'Razor', the crusty Ford dealership retired mechanic (retired to parts man)...- pomester

1959 871 transmission pressure test and band adjustment
Remove the last two and it'll fall off - I'm not certain without looking at the book which are valve body bolts and which hold the valve body to the transmission, but if it won't fall off you haven't removed the right bolts. -

Welcome to the board. You're in the right place. Symptoms point to the valve body and a stuck valve. You'll need to pull the cover - follow the shop manual instructions carefully so as not to mangle any cables. The valve body is right on top and you'll be able to observe the action of the... -

1963 2000 needs gas tank, HELP PLEASE
The valve that attaches under the tank has a fine screen associated with it. Turn the valve in to shut off the fuel flow, turn it out to run. You should probably check and make sure it's open before doing anything else. Here's a thread about the valves with pictures - the bolts holding it to... -
