    8N Steering Gear Box Oil

    Thanks for the rapid response. The tractor steers just fine. I'm struggling to push a thin bent wire into the hole to determine if it does have oil in it. The previous owner must have oiled it because of the ease of steering. I want to be proactive on the maintenance.

    I forgot to follow-up in my previous post about how much gear oil that I should put into the tube. Should I fill it up until it comes back up and overflows from the plug hole or just a squirt or two from the gear oil squeeze bottle? Thanks.

    I'm on the fence about using corn head grease or 90wt EP gear oil in my steering gear box. If corn head grease I noticed Cenex has a corn head grease that's about half the price of JD stuff. Any thoughts, comments suggestions? Thanks.
