    JD M adjustable front axel

    Any suggestions on how to "unstick" an adjustable font axel? One side is free. The other side may be rusted in place. I didn't want to pull too hard on the wheel spindle for fear of bending it. I tried some force with a hammer and a pipe wrench to turn it but no luck.

    1948 front mount 12v, Carb rebuilt, governor refurbished, starts and runs but lacks enough power to shred weeds with 5' brush hog. I pulled #4 spark plug and its wet the others are good. Do I have some bad valves?[/img]

    Thanks for the help guys. I have ordered new governor steel balls as I found some wear on them and I believe are contributing to the issues.     1949 8N front mount, 12v converted Neg Ground. starts ok with the choke, as a couple of minutes go by less and less choke are needed until no choke. engine idles slow and ammeter reads 0 (not - or +) when rpm is raised ammeter reaches 8to10 positive charge. oil pressure is 35 as i'm running...

    I checked spark, black but working, Carb got a reset of settings, governor still suspect but when I checked the air cleaner I found it clogged with the whitefluff that floats through the air.

    OK, so I'll admit to an electrical issue if it doesn't shut off with the Key. (but who among us have NO issues) tomorrow I'll try to start it with the key in the Off position. Any other ideas as to what to check? :?:
