    Deere Humiliation Stories

    Not a story, but a question... It seems a common problem for the MM's to jump out of gear... is there a "common" fix for this problem??? no one here farms with them, but they make great pullers... i have a 335, and there are several others locally, almost all of them have to be strapped in...

    No, i've never seen a tractor flywheel come apart, but i,ve seen plenty of race cars do it... very dangerous.... lots of people been hurt that way.. i realize antique tractor pulling should be a safe motorsport, but any one participating in any motorsport is at risk... i've seen several fans...

    I was assuming that any one who spent the time & money to build a tractor capable of turning these higer RPM's Would use a steel flywheel, scatter shield blanket, & any other safety equipment to keep any & all safe.... seems to me that most of the arguments arent over the safety aspect, but...

    I know that pulling clubs all over try, & have a very hard time policeing RPM limits... I am very curious to why you need a RPM limit, when you have a speed limit???? does anyone have a serious answer to my question????

    To be honest... i dont know??? i bought the tractor ready to pull..... is is supposed to be bored & stroked??? i've not been inside the motor???

    I have a 335... the ampli torq works fine in it.. I pull 3500 & up... jerked her into the low side pullin 4850 & stripped 10 teeth off her ring gear... so evidently the AT is stronger than the rearend???

    Allis WD Gas Tank

    I Re-Sortered around the rear mount... then used a product called ?? something creme??? got it at a motercycle fix-it shop... looked like elmers glue... poured a little in the dry tank and moved the tank around coating the bottom... tank has not leaked since....

    which MM to pull?

    I have a 335 that i pull in the 4000 & 4500 lb classes, i put my 16 yr old daughter on it & pulled in the 3500 lb class.... it has been "worked on" but is not enough tractor to be competitive in anything heavier than say 5000lb..
