    fuel leak around sending unit on NG tractors

    The rubber one is a John Deere part from the dealer. I was expecting a cork one because that is what came off originally, and a rubber one came with the new sending unit.

    I think the tank has been leaking around the sending unit on my 2510. I got a new gasket, which is rubber. Should I put any silicone or other sealer on it? I am concerned about leaking through the screw holes.. Should I try to seal the threads with some silicone or other product? Thanks!
