    New project

Just in case you don't yet have "jdarts" in your favorites, here is how to get connected to a very valuable tool - (PatB). ------------- JD Parts Homepage -- This is a ready tool for those having Internet access. The simplest way to establish initial contact is to go to Google, and enter...

    John Christopher don't Pay!

Hi - That's Me folks! Lots of the folks I deal with claim they aren't "into computers", but you are so right; I am getting to the point where they either use PayPal or send money - and when I get paid, I release the goods. It just seems a pity to punish all for the sake of those one or two...

    John Deere A carb upgrade?

Hi Hoss - say, from what I gather, DLTX33 was factory-installed only on A491336 thru A489999. These tractors represent roughly the latter 80% of production year 1940 tractors. This is from FSB 182-S, Aug 1951 and can be viewed on my website at the URL cited below. (PatB) Carburetor ID Chart

    Break in Engine Oil

Hi Jim - I recommend you drain the break-in oil and install new regular oil you plan to operate with. Break-in oil is routinely used for 20 hours, and then drained and replaced. As for which oil to use in your Model 2750, I leave that for someone else to answer - but I say this, if you don't...

    lead washers

Here is my take on the lead washers - as relates to Model H tractors. Keep in mind that when a decision to use lead was made, lead was probably about the lowest cost material on the planet! (PatB) -------------- Use new lead washers under the nuts in center and on top, inside the tappet cavity...

How have YOU repaired a stem on a carburetor?

Mike M - You are taking a lot for granted here in terms of the skills that Brown Green possesses. He is unemployed and doesn't weld – tells me loads! I would have severe trepidation about the outcome here! IMHO, Brown Green needs to hold off until such time as he CAN afford to hire it done...

    unstyled B

Here - from the book -- (PatB) Install gasket with smooth side toward block. If both sides of head gasket seem smooth, then check the firing ring – the crimped border around each cylinder bore hole. You will find one side of the ring smooth. This side goes to the block. The other side has the...

    JD H

Hi Bill - There's sure more than one way to skin a cat. I like your technique. That way you are removing only the metal that must come off, and not creating for your self yet another problem. Be Blessed! (PatB)

what type of grease fitting is correct on 29 gp ?

I can't say what you see here is authentically "Factory" but it IS what the Parts Catalog PC50R called out. Both are 1/8" NPT and which one is used depends on where you are using it; either straight or at an angle. (PatB)

    looking for help.....

I don't have any live leads for you, but would encourage you to "think outside the box" on this one. Those springs need to be of the correct tension and length, but (perhaps) they do not need to be conical. As such, I'd give some thought to using special washers or bushings to adapt ordinary...
