    70 diesel is close with everything except the engine though... That's where I need the correct specs, is the engine. The only thing really interchangeable on a gas to diesel is the oil filter when it comes to the engine. Different bearings, different bores, different valves... All different...

    I have it, along with pretty much every other two cylinder book. The ONLY thing in that book that is specific to a 70 gas is the pulley brake adjustment. The engine, transmission, hydraulics, pto, is all for the 720… The book shows the head torque of 275 for a 720, and nothing for a 70…

    There is NO factory deere service manual for a 70 gas though, so it wouldn’t do any good to call other than waste time on the phone 🙄.

    I need to do some work on a 70 gas, and since I've found there is no manual specific to a 70 gas, I have some questions on torque specs. The IT book says 208 lb-ft for the torque, but I see many people say to use a 720 gas book, and those show 275 lb-ft for the torque? That's a bunch different...

    You don't have to necessarily get a whole 2 speed pto, but the shifter and the 1000 rpm gear. The shift collar and the one 1000rpm gear is already in there.     Andy many times number 6, that collar, will have a groove worn in it from the years of use, which will require it to be replaced too, but it's already out in your hands, so no harder or digging deeper.
