    70 gas head bolt torque

70 diesel is close with everything except the engine though... That's where I need the correct specs, is the engine. The only thing really interchangeable on a gas to diesel is the oil filter when it comes to the engine. Different bearings, different bores, different valves... All different...

    70 gas head bolt torque

Hey, I've done the same thing before unfortunately... Yeah the sm2017 for the 70 diesel is close, but the engine side of it is COMPLETELY different yet...

    70 gas head bolt torque

I have it, along with pretty much every other two cylinder book. The ONLY thing in that book that is specific to a 70 gas is the pulley brake adjustment. The engine, transmission, hydraulics, pto, is all for the 720… The book shows the head torque of 275 for a 720, and nothing for a 70…

    70 gas head bolt torque

There is NO factory deere service manual for a 70 gas though, so it wouldn’t do any good to call other than waste time on the phone 🙄.

    70 gas head bolt torque

I need to do some work on a 70 gas, and since I've found there is no manual specific to a 70 gas, I have some questions on torque specs. The IT book says 208 lb-ft for the torque, but I see many people say to use a 720 gas book, and those show 275 lb-ft for the torque? That's a bunch different...

    1907 friction drive picture

It is pretty cool, this guy has a lot of cool red tractors. O-14, O-14, 300 utility propane, among others. He has a homemade tractor, that has a I think 235 chevy engine, 4 speed transmission, and some sort of a tank or apc rear end. I have no idea how fast it will go, but I had it up to about...

    1907 friction drive picture

Trying to help a friend/customer out with something. He has a 1907 International Harvester 20hp friction drive tractor. He had it at Red Power Roundup in 2006 in Mansfield Ohio, and started it for a demonstration, and it was the first time his wife started it. He never got a picture of her doing...

    Location of 310 crankcase vent

My(dad's) 1750 broke number one rod, knocked the injection pump off, and broke the flywheel off the crank. This was pulling a two basket tedder, so a REAL heavy load on it...haha. My wife(fiancé at the time) was on the other side of the field, heard the clunk, and about 10 seconds later heard me...

    O-14 electric start

So to me it looks like it has the bump out on it. It’s not at my shop, so I had someone take a picture for me. Should only need a starter then… I might see how the Oliver starter will fit there.

    O-14 electric start

I like it, I'll have to do some figuring and see what he says. My biggest concern, is getting the hole cut out "pretty"

    O-14 electric start

Working on an O-14 for a customer, rebuilding the engine and getting it running. One thing is, he is an older guy and doesn't really want to hand crank it if he doesn't have to. Does anyone have an idea on what starter we need? I've done some searching, and haven't found anything concrete, and...

    Is this 1850 really a 1750?

Finding them new? very unlikely. You can either find a complete 2 speed pto, or the parts. Potential tractors, 1750,1850,1950,1950t. Possibly 2050/2150, but most of those are not getting parted to find them. I'm not sure if an 1800 of any series will work(A,B,C), but those are a possibility. I...

    Is this 1850 really a 1750?

Ok, here are a set of gears and parts from a 2 speed. I don’t have a picture of a 540 shaft to compare, but I think it’s longer to push on the pin on the inside. On a single speed, there is a plug in the middle of the shaft just to keep oil out, and then a snap ring to hold the shift collar on...

    Is this 1850 really a 1750?

You don't have to necessarily get a whole 2 speed pto, but the shifter and the 1000 rpm gear. The shift collar and the one 1000rpm gear is already in there. Of course if you do it this way, you won't have the lockout and you could have 1000rpm with a 540 shaft in. In order to fix that, you have...

    JD 4020 pto seal leaking

Andy many times number 6, that collar, will have a groove worn in it from the years of use, which will require it to be replaced too, but it's already out in your hands, so no harder or digging deeper.
