    OT DOG BARKING

I thought all the illegals were ALREADY here! I can tell you why I moved here 41 years ago; I got out of western NY to move to the "sunny south" or so it seemed to me, and to a job with a good company (New Holland). Haven't had a dog yet, but thinking about it, if I can get one that will chase...

    LEAD ADDITIVE FOR 8N

I hate to start up the old argument again, BUT: "...as the detergent oil will pick up and carry accumulated sludge that the non-detergent oils let settle out." This is not true. "Detergent" oils (named for promotional reasons, not because they had a cleaning up ability) will carry generated...

    FAN BLADE ALTERATIONS (long)

Such linear equations are to be used as "Rule of thumb" only in narrow ranges, as most fan curves are not straight lines! So, they may be practical if you want to change something by 5 percent, but probably never work at 80 percent. Besides, most engine cooling fans would be in stall if sped up...

    Flywheel question

The drawing shows a flat surface that is .880 to .890 away from the surface the mounting palm of the crankshaft mates with. It also, however allows an area inside 9.25 diameter to be recessed from 0 to .005" to true the surface to meet the squareness requirement of that surface to the 4.00"...

    center axle cracks

You would want to verify with a spark test, but the successor replacement axles are 1040 steel. A good welder can do the spark check and appropriately weld this for you.

8N lights need what amp fuse?

The fuse is to be sized to protect the circuit, so it depends on the lightest gauge wire in circuit, factor in the lengths, etc. and the fuse is determined. You don't just keep putting in larger fuses until they quit blowing if you want to avoid a fire.

    8N Fan Belt Size

More info on the 9N belts: 9N-8620-A calculates to 43.57" to 43.81" as passing size range on inspection fixture, per print. 9N-8620-B calculates to 44.17" to 45.007" as passing size range on inspection fixture. Both prints specify "All fan belts to be marked with name "Ford" in script and...

    41 9n steering arms

Joe, Mine was a mismatched pair, but just the opposite. Do both of your spindles have the vertical keyseat (for the woodruff key) at the top, or was the right one with the horizontal notch as correct for the locking pin? I think the spindles are available.

    OT Paulownia trees

I got into these trees here in southern PA (about the furthest north they will grow) about twenty years ago. I had one grow about 16 feet one season. Never pruned them back, but because of frost, they usually kill back the first years growth (24-48") and then, because the root system can feed it...

    2N patent plate

My 9N241 has a hand stamped number, but it is 279. I believe this was a tracking number stamped in the castings as they went through machining, so they would know what part was machined after or before each of all the modifications that were made as the line was getting started, as they got to...
