MF165 dip stick
I was brush hogging and a stick pushed my dip stick out and I can't find it. I ordered one but it will be several days before it will be here. I was hoping someone could measure thiers and let know the length. Its a MF165 1969 with the Perkins diesel. That way I can make a temporary stick...- Ranger Red

Bob I sent you a email but here's some information you asked me about. Serial # T213R 145638R Synchro shift I connected the brown and the black at the alternator and at the starter battery post. I found the double yellow safety shift and I have a jumper wire on it for now. It just doesn't...- Ranger Red

Sorry for the confusion rvirgil I didn't know the correct name it's a I wire alternator and its the 2 pin edge connector is what I meant. I been working with it this morning and went for a start and nothing just dead. I have power to the starter and back to the secondary solenoid but that's it...- Ranger Red

Okay thanks for the reply back that's what I thought about the one wire alternator but having trouble convincing my neighbor. He has two more 4020 with one wire alternators and they both have wires coming from the plug. On the second problem thanks I will try using the test light tomorrow.- Ranger Red

I have been converting a 4020 from 24 to 12 volt for a neighbor. I have most of the conversion done but I have a couple of questions I could sure use some help with. I installed a new 1 wire alternator as directed by connecting the blue and brown wires together and bolting to the alternator...- Ranger Red
