    I'm gonna say '60-'63, as the font used for the 45 is the same as used on the New Gen 30/4010, agree pan seats were used up til the '64 squarebacks.

    Your point is well taken, Deere poured plenty of money into R&D, however the "MIV" trans. link you posted was for a variable speed belt driven transmission, don't think too many farmers woulda been interested in a belt drive 30/4020. :roll:

    All K series Kohlers have points, not under the flywheel, but under a small cover, with 2 screws, like in this pic, on the side of the crankcase . . .
