    8n brakes

I hear ya. Ive been fighting brake leaks on mine since I got it in 99. I'g gonna take it to a guy thats gonna put new hubs on cause the hub on the left(leaking)side is worn and won't tighten up. I dug into them over and over following Smith's instructions but I'm not real confident about the...

Dell, I,m tellin you,I did! I did 1 turn out and tried in with no luck 1.5 and 2 the same way. I tried if at 1.5 out and screwed it in till it faltered and started very slowly backing it out and it never riched up. I unscrewed it like 6-8 turns and it was still acting lean. I double checked gas...

hanks for the input,I went by the 04 manual but used the steel nuts that were on the manifold.I dont have a torque wrench so I did that just firm and checked them after a heat up/cool down. I swapped the distributor cause the old one had a lot of slop in the bushings. As of last night it will...

Well it isn"t bad gas. I got 4 gal of no corn gas, same thing, stumbling, popping, light backfires at high rpm? Pull choke out a tad and it runs better, not right but better. Push in the choke and the stumble pop backfire come back. Also noticed governor is hunting? I don"t know where to look next.

If the rotor is turning inside the cap,it comes to and energizes cylinder 3 before cylinder 4 so how can the firing order be 1243 if the plug wire run 1234?

Are the plugs firing in that order constantly but the cam is opening and closing #4 cylinder before #3?

I still am confused, if the rotor is rotating past each socket in succession and the plug wires/plugs are connected 1234 to a cap that is 1234, how can 4 fire before 3?

ell.....I think I have #3 and #4 switched   Would that cause the backfiring at high rpm? Would a little choke stop the backfiring if the plug wires are swapped wrong?

Bruce, Thanks for the response, I've been reading your posts and stuff for years! So the cap doesnt control fire to the plugs? Does each plug wire ,1 through 4 go on the corresponding numbered socket on the distributor cap? or does #4 plug wire go to #3 socket? to get the right firing order?

2N having trouble with a 5ft Bush Hogg

I run a 5' bushhog on a 48 8N, I had similar issues with the bogging and fighting the lift. 1 Get a set of limiter chains or make a set then you can dump the lift all the way down and the chains will hold the bushhog at a constant level. Set it up with the back of the bushhog higher than...

I want to make sure I understand the firing order/plug wire arrangement. #1 plug(closest to radiator) goes in #1 socket of front mount distributor cap,#2 goes in #2, #4 plug wire(closest to steering wheel) goes in#3 on the cap and the 3rd plug from the front goes in#4 socket of the cap? Is this...

Slop in the bushings,it looked original. I don't have the tools to change the bushing and if I bought them I might as well get a new one.
