    IBC (just the cage) goes on mine for gathering firewood. Handy setup and easier to maneuver in the woods than with a trailer.

    The starter in Our ‘66 Bug died during my kid years. We drove everywhere parking on a hill or where we kids could push it. I guess replacing a starter in an old VW was only for millionaires because I recall going for quite a while like that.

    No scooter experience. I have a receiver hitch bike rack that’s easy to use either on the front or rear of my truck. And you can always take the bike and just pedal around for the fun of it.

    Came across this ad on FB, lots of old junk up for sale. A little too far and too junky even for me. What is the tractor? Allis? And the other item—home made sprayer? Can’t figure out the big drum on back.

    This actually feels like a quality tool, has good weight and feel. I suspect it might have been better quality back in the day. Now I need to try it out on something. Just hanging on the wall now.

    Pretty well-made, I keep it around to look at. Jaws open as it swivels. Has a little stop so you can use it in either direction. Never tried to actually use it.

    One of the plug wires had come off. I’ll go and hang my head in shame now. On a more positive note, the deck really needed a deep cleaning I couldn’t have done without removing it and at least I didn’t do it a second time. All back to normal now. Thanks again for the help. Gerrit

    I’ll check back with any news. I’m pretty sure the problem is with the deck itself but I’ll try to rule out the engine. Thanks again for the replies. Gerrit

    Heat and Age

    They had a doctor talking on the news radio station this morning. He said regardless of your age it’s a bad idea to be out doing exercise or exerting yourself in this kind of heat. I’m 64, took a walk early morning before the mercury started climbing.

    Thanks, if I remove the deck again and decide to replace the spindles I’ll just do all of them. I’ll check a little more to make sure there isn’t some debris stuck in there.

    Thanks for the replies. The noise and vibration definitely sound like they’re coming from the deck. I’ll look at the electric clutch but it’s engaging normally far as I can tell. Not looking forward to taking the deck off again, but at least now I know how to do it.

    Thought I’d check here for suggestions about my Cub Cadet riding mower deck. All was good, cutting normally and plenty of power. Now it bogs down as soon as I engage the electric pto. Tractor seems to lose at least 50% power, really struggles with the blades spinning. Vibration, too. Not so...

    Brake Drum Puller

    I’ve seen drums with holes like that on cars. I think Citroën had a special puller because these drums need one. There are a few special tools it’s good to have or make if you’re working on a 2CV.
