International 574 new power steering pump. Lines dont fit?

Those bleeders are for the brakes, if the pedals go all the way down you’ll have to bleed them. Bleed the steering by turning it left all the way then right all the way then repeat 10-15 times. Might take more , you’ll feel it when it picks up the fluid. Hyd fluid should be fine if it’s...

International 574 new power steering pump. Lines dont fit?

Not on the 74 series, I think they went to the newer style pump somewhere into the 84 series

    What? Autolite out of buisness?

Yeah where you been? It’s not they went bankrupt. It’s the two brothers who owned several companies that are in a world of crap, criminal charges, etc

International 574 new power steering pump. Lines dont fit?

Fittings are flare fittings, I’m not sure what size but no sealant. I think 1/4” hose should work , 3000 psi hose. 4 ft should be plenty, probably 3 would be fine but in your situation go with 4’. It’s gonna be a mess with all that hose and not a lot of room but you gotta do what you have to.

International 574 new power steering pump. Lines dont fit?

Hose ends shouldn’t be a problem. Sorry I can’t help you on the length, would be best for you to do it yourself anyway. The original pumps aren’t for the faint of heart, they are timed and can be messed up real quick. I sent an original out for rebuild a year ago, $600

International 574 new power steering pump. Lines dont fit?

Exceeded the price but now time and hoses or modifications to existing lines. I would get hoses made to replace those lines, if not you’re going to have very short pieces and adds more connections up under there and possible leaks. Not the easiest place to get to.

International 574 new power steering pump. Lines dont fit?

Well frankly I would’ve got my pump rebuilt or got the correct pump but I have considered putting that new style pump on one of the older ones. I have cut and welded those steel lines and have also replaced them with hydraulic hoses

    IH 584 no brakes…

I know exactly what he’s asking about, the screen is part of the orifice and keeps the small hole from getting plugged, it’s all one piece.

    IH 584 no brakes…

The orifice needs to be there, it sets the amount of oil going to the master cylinders. If they get too much oil it can cause the brakes to drag and wear your brake lining off. That’s a big job to replace the brake discs. If you make sure the orifice is clean and the small hole is open the...

    IH 584 no brakes…

Pull the rubber feed hose off the line from the oil cooler to the masters, get the orifice out of the hose and see if it’s stopped up. First thing to check, must be an early 584, later ones had the reservoir I believe

    Ih 2405 - ih 454/464 fuel tank

A good welding shop should be able to fix it. If holes are in bottom that’s a little more difficult but sides are fairly straight forward to fix. I’ve done several with bad sides.

    Ih 2405 - ih 454/464 fuel tank

What’s wrong with yours? The sides rusted out? If so, that can be fixed. Sides cut out and new sides welded in. Or try ASAP , they may have a refurbished one, a good used one is hard to come by.

    International 454 Low Power

Ah a 474, I had never seen one till a year ago at an auction. I had to do orings on my 585 last year, the masters the year before and a clutch in between

    International 454 Low Power

Was your 454 and 684 North American tractors? The 574 I have (which was a demonstrator) has the pressure sensor on top of the trans and the breather under the seat just like the 85 series.

    International 454 Low Power

And the only way the brakes can get too much pressure except for the pedals is if the orifice is not in the supply hose, then you’ll get brake drag. Did a 385 today where the orifice was completely stopped up, so no supply to the brakes and couldn’t bleed them till I took the hose off, got the...
