    Remington 722 Questions

You should still have the gun looked at. It may just be that it needs to be cleaned.

    Remington 722 Questions

Well said. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, always keep the firearm unloaded when not using it.

    Remington 722 Questions

If your safety won't stay off there is a problem with it and you should have it checked out. I have a model 721, the long action version, and it works just fine. Larry

    Ford 850 . . . maybe?

If you can push the clutch about half way down and you can shift gears with the PTO running it's live. I had an 850 and the PTO stopped when I clutched. There are plenty of people on here that know a lot about tractors. They'll probably chime in if I'm wrong. Larry

My 401 Industrial JD doesn't sound too bad after all

I wear muffs. If I'm doing something really loud, like vacuuming up leaves, I use plugs and muffs. I'm also trying to keep what hearing I have left.

I can't remove my starter, or turn the engine over

It was jammed on the flywheel. Yeah I was afraid of breaking the flange as well. Take your time and work around the edges of the flange moving the starter a little bit at a time. I replaced the starter after I removed it.

I can't remove my starter, or turn the engine over

Had the same issue with my 800. It was the starter drive sticking. I used a small chisel to work the starter free. Just take your time working the starter off. If the engine won't turn over by hand with starter removed the problem is more serious.

Rear Axle shims on a Ford 800?

I replaced the bearings and seals on my 860 last spring. The shims do belong in there. The axle is not hard to shim correctly and as wore out states it's not real critical. My Ford Shop Manual says end play should be between .002 and .016.
