    New 684 tach runs at half speed

    Sorry for the delay in answering everyone. I'm guessing it's a bad tach. I don't exactly remember where I got it and I've had it on the shelf a couple years, so no sending it back . My old one worked fine, screw the new one in and it only runs at half speed. I think I'll try ordering a new one.

    After changing the tach on my '84 684, the new tach is only running at half speed. My old tach worked, except for the hour meter. The RPM needle worked fine. Any ideas on what the issue is? Is there some adapter I need to get for the new tach?

    I have a 1965 1850 that I acquired that doesn't have any of the 3pt links. I've been looking around to find some lower links and I see there are two sizes. Ones that are 38" long or ones that are 40 1/2" long. Which ones would have the been standard option?

    Does anyone have a part number for the shaft seal on an 1850 hydraulic pump 167 574-AS? The parts book says to look at pump breakdown. Can't seem to find the breakdown anywhere.

    Oliver 1850 transmission won't shift into high section

    Tractor sat for about 10 years before I brought it home last year. Cleaned up shift rails then checked the bearings as you mentioned, all seemed good. Put the cover on today and was able to shift into all 6 gears multiple times. Thanks for the help

    I have an Oliver 1850 where I can shift into 1, 2, R1 and 4. Can't shift into 3,5,6, or R2. Shift lever wont move past the upper section. If I try to shift into the lower section the tractor locks up and dies. Have taken the transmission cover and hydraulic unit off. Shift rails were pretty...

    684 master cylinder rebuild - where does the check ball go?

    Mine does have the 3 port master cylinders and the plastic reservoir. It is a 1983. The parts manual doesn't match sometimes and I usually end up looking at the 685 parts books.

    JimB2, Thanks for the pic, that helps. I had watched the same video but didn't see anything about the check ball. After looking at the parts catalogs today, i saw my cylinders were a match for the 85 series. Thanks again for the help.

    Anyone know where the little the check ball goes at in the master cylinders on a 684? I tore both cylinders apart and went to knock the piston out on the bench and each time a small check ball also came out. Not sure where it goes when everything goes back together. Thanks in advance.

    JimB2, so what did I miss on this pic from an earlier post? I was going for option #2. Isn't #34 the unloading/flow control valve under the seat? Where is tube #39 then?

    JimB2: You're saying I need to switch where I added the cap and where the new hose is connected? Put the cap where the hose is and connect the hose to where the cap is in the pic?
