    New to me Franken-Fergie

M-F, When I took my rocker cover off I saw there were no caps on the valves. Seems to have been that was a good while by the wear. Don't knowif this is right or wrong, but the vale tops were still good, the only wear on rocker arms. Question; How much oil should I be seeing coming from the...

That's very useful , J-D D. Thank you for that! May I ask which manual is the best to get for this tractor? As I said earlier, I did buy one but it never turned up! ATB, Richard.

Thanks for that Charles. Work on this has to only take a bit of my time, as spring farm stuff in upon us here. That and back legs not working right cuts a hole in my days! I need to figure out if I am getting enough oil up onto the rocker shaft/ arms. It takes a while to get oozing from all...

Another thought Charles, Up to now l have been running it with the rocker cover off to make sure the top end was getting lube. Q, Will this be affecting engine revs when opening the throttle?, as the breather is also not connected to the cover of ccours. Thank you in advance, Richard Will...

Good morning Charles, As it's snowed again I might get time to mess with it a bit. I will just check throttle linkage first, as I had all that hauled out to make a friction disk and fit. I tried to put it back exactly as it was, but need to check. Then, it'll be Bundy Bears time! I don't have a...

Good morning Charles, I just tightened the slack nuts on manifold for now and she doesn't seem to be blowing. Will keep your recommendations in mind though! Squared the end of exhaust where it fits manifold, and fitted a new gasket. No blowing there now either. I don't know id it's just carb...

Yes, M-F, it sounds a lot easier to get at manifold bolts on this one. Hope that gasket comes in today.

M-F, My manifold seems in good order, and also the nuts are OK to get a spanner on. Socket fits. Not cramped. I had the throttle rod out as the grip washer was kaput, so made one. The choke rod is ok as well. Hopefully I can go pick up that exhaust gasket tomorrow. Just thinking, yours is a TO...

Bolts holding manifold were not all tight M-F, so ran them up. If I have to take it off, l will do as you suggest! Waiting for exhaust gasket. When l get that, will try him and see if manifold blowing. If all ok, play with carb, and if still messing about, will get a kit for it and go from...

I seem to have read that the carbs can be changed, but this might be heresay. Well, as far as cleanup went, l didnt remove the head, as valves were not stuck, so pulled the rocker arm and push rods. Plugged all the holes and used a wire brush on a dremel to skoot off the crud. The push rods...

Well charles, Put water in him and ran him a bit today. He started well, bug near smpked me out as he was leaking at exhaust where it joins manifold, And at manifold. Ran him long enough to see that top end was getting some lube. Then he stopped . Thought out of juice, so filled the small temp...

    TO20 Transmission Starter Switch

I took my switch apart and fixed it up. Plenty of meat in the contacts still, just a bit burned. It had been by-passed but much prefer it as it was originally. Mind you, that price you quote Duner, would take some beating!
