JD G and A front axle swap question
I have a 1949 JD G with the narrow front end. I'd like to swap the narrow front for a wide front from a JD A of similar vintage. Will any A wide front axle work? Are there any other red flags? My G has a split pedestal. Thanks.- richard1949

Model G flywheel problem
Thanks for the advice. I pulled the flywheel today and the crankshaft splines look pretty good, just some wear/rounding on a short 1/4-1/3 inch portion of a couple splines. The flywheel splines are very good. Question: The end of the crankshaft has both a V mark and a shaved spline that are...- richard1949

I have discovered that my 1949 Model G flywheel was installed 180 out at some time in the past. It starts and runs fine. However the engine is out of balance and the tractor shakes noticeably. Can I leave the flywheel as is and instead re-install the clutch driven plate (it is...- richard1949
