    Look to the upper left of the steering column on the dash. If you see 4 holes, the plate is missing.

    One thing you might try is after installing a new gasket (rubber/cork), snug up the bowl, turn on the gas, fill bowl and rotate glass bowl to find that "Sweet Spot" and tighten.     If it's a 152 perkins (44 HP) you should be able to locate a transplant from a MF 250 Aqriculture tractor or a MF 30E Industial loader/Backhoe. I can't confirm what you have, only you can. Good luck!
