    Ford 850 Intake Leak

Thanks for the replies. I'll start at the carb and work my way to the distributor. And see what I can learn about smoke tests.

    Ford 850 Intake Leak

Good thought on the square. Pretty simple concept I never thought about. Any other ideas?

    Ford 850 Intake Leak

I have a 1955 Ford 850 my grandad bought new from Goshen Implement in Elkhart County Indiana. I have had it in Idaho since the late '70's using for snow plowing some bush hogging and light excavation as I added a Freeman loader about 1980. Been running fine but started sputtering running rough...

    IH 684 Thoughts

Thanks for the reply on the brakes & loader. One other question, does this engine normally have some sort of glow plug or other cold weather starting assist? Snow plowing is pretty important for us and I have been fighting a diesel with no way to generate heat to help the starting.

    IH 684 Thoughts

Might have a chance to pick up a 684 MFWD 4WD but I haven't went to look yet. Haven't been around one of these so are there any issues to watch for with this model? Have heard some things about parts availability on the injector pump, is this an issue? Also, does this model have hydraulic brakes...

    1265 Fuel Pump

And we have the 1265 running!! Thanks for your help with the various ideas. It warmed up to 35 and sunny so that helped also. I will be sure to keep the fuel tank closer to the full side. Will be below 0 in a few days so I will be done for a bit. Happy New Year!!

    1265 Fuel Pump

High gear and more than half throttle, got it. I think I will open the the valve at the bottom of the tank and see if there is any dirt. Here is a picture a few years back. We have lots more snow now, maybe 18 on the flat away from the timber. The little winch on the back is for when I get stuck...

    1265 Fuel Pump

As I said, I haven't tried to pull it yet. Hopefully a contractor boosted it up the hill to the county road.. We hooked on yesterday with a loaded logging truck, long logs, with two set of triples on the drivers and he spun out also. Only need to go 50 feet. So what would be the best gear and...

    1265 Fuel Pump

I was plowing snow and snowing blowing when the tractor just stopped. About 28F, just right for the snowblower to work. Engine stopped . Would crank but no firing. figured fuel issue, icing or at least water in the fuel. Have been adding diesel supp;lement all fall so I believe the fuel is OK...

    14-59 mower

Thanks for the help. In case I need to build a bracket, what is the vertical measurement between the two pins on the bracket I pictured??

    14-59 mower

I picked up this mower, all complete except the breakaway attachment bracket. I am trying to mount this on an 850 or a 9n. Both tractors have issues due to a loader on the 850 and an ARPS track setup on the 9n. Makes it difficult to get the brakeaway bar attached under the axel. Any one know...

    1265 Sway Bars

I have no way of knowing if they are the correct chains. They each have a large hand turned enclosed turnbuckle sort of arrangement for adjusting the length. I think I am the second owner so I am thinking they are original.

    1265 Sway Bars

Thanks , may try that. I'll lift the arms up to the top and see how much slack is really there. Don't want the chains to be too short.

    1265 Sway Bars

We have a 1265 with a log skidding winch that is PTO operated and attached to the 3 point. Has a tendency to sway hard when traveling on uneven ground even with the sway chains shortened all the way. Is there a sway bar arrangement like on the Fords? Looks like there is room for a bracket below...
