    Won't Run Without Choke On

    Check for a weak spark. A weak spark can jump the spark plug gap with lower pressure but may not with full compression.

    Another possible cause is an ignition switch or an ammeter going bad. Being intermittent those kind of issues are hard to diagnose.

    New points may not be any better than the old ones. They often have a tiny bit of corrosion on them. Open them, slip a piece of brown paper between them and pull the paper through. That may be all you need.

    Your ignition points have a little corrosion on them. Remove them from the distributor and take a small piece of 600 grit wet and dry sandpaper which you will fold to have the grit on the outside. Pull this between the closed points several times, then reverse the fold and pull the paper side...

    Starter Solenoid

    Since the tractor did not come with a solenoid, the one on it is one the previous owner adapted. You don't need the exact replacement, you need to return to the switch it originally had or adapt a solenoid of your choice to it.

    MF 230 clutch not engaging

    The pilot bearing may be causing the problem. If it drags it will appear that the clutch doesn't disengage fully as it keeps the transmission input shaft turning. This also requires a split to access so even if this isn't the for sure problem, replace it while you have the tractor split.

    Plant your clover with the winter rye. Clover loves rye. The seeds don't need any special treatment. When I have planted with rye, when the rye is ready to harvest, the clover will be knee high in it.
