    Hood bumpers early 3000

Thanks! That’s what the stuff on the left side looks like. I’m familiar with Metro MMP from my mopar restoration experience and I’m sure I can find something like that.

    Hood bumpers early 3000

I noticed my hood doesn't fit right - I looked on the parts manual and there are supposed to be rubber bumpers on the cowl. But my cowl does not have holes for rubber bumpers and it has only the remains of something that looks like a rubber weatherstrip on the left side. Does anyone know what...

    Ford 2000 carb replacement

You are probably correct in the functionality but there is a difference in the lever on the side of the throttle shaft. The earlier one is shorter (needs less movement of the rod to translate into full throttle). My tractor had an incorrect later Holley on it and I swapped for a correct early...

Puff of blue smoke on startup

My 3000 gas gives a little blue smoke on startup. It starts and runs beautifully so I'm not inclined to touch it just yet, but would like to deal with it sooner or later. I'm assuming it's just stem seals or possibly guide wear. Any tips? Are these engines known for valve issues?

    Power steering fittings

They are SAE flares (45 degree). Or at least mine were.

Where is the selectospeed pickup screen?

It's a 3000, got it. My dad drained it before I got it so I have only filled it. Guess I would have figured out when I drained it LOL.

Where is the selectospeed pickup screen?

Changed my oil, filter 2x and it still has a pretty loud pump noise when just sitting there. Shifts and drives nicely, so thinking I might change the oil again. Have heard about the pickup screen - is this on the bottom of the trans? So I should get a gasket for the bottom plate too?

    Slow power steering (Ford 3000)

Suddenly it started working yesterday. Was loving it, right until the right side steering cylinder shaft broke. It appears that the balljoint on the end of the shaft was seized. Stupidly I kept working it with just the left cylinder attached. Until I bent that side... Not sure if there is...

    3000 Ford Holley carb/timing advance.

Will be a waste of $120+ if the carb is worn out. Mine had a worn throttle bore and worn accel pump bore. No kit can fix that. Take it apart and check all that stuff first.

    3000 Ford Holley carb/timing advance.

Sounds more like carb. Does putting the choke on half way help it? If the dist. hits the carb you should be able to move it over one tooth. Follow the instructions in the shop manual after aligning the timing marks. I had similar problems - bad idle, wouldn't take a load, etc. Pulled off...

    Lift rocker pin

Any tips on removing the lift rocker pin from the rear axle housing? Mine is broken off on both sides, maybe from a previous removal attempt, and someone stuck a 3/4 pin through the center of it. This, of course, has worn out the rocker and I want to fix it properly Looks like a nightmare...

    Slow power steering (Ford 3000)

Thanks. I’ll keep diagnosing it.. need to change the filter and maybe check the valve block for dirt. Not sure where else to look.

    Slow power steering (Ford 3000)

Thanks everyone - looks like from hard right to hard left the wheel raises about 1/4 inch. Is that worn or within the normal range? Spindle bushings and thrust bearings are new.

    Slow power steering (Ford 3000)

I have an early 3000 with factory power steering. The power steering works, but only if I turn slowly. If I crank the wheel there is no assist. I replaced the lines to the cylinders because they were kinked and full of wasp nests when I got it (had been apart a long time). Wondering how...

    Early 3000 front spindles

I was able to use old spindles with new bushings. But i got some reamers on ebay just in case. I have my old worn out carb complete with spring. Not sure if you can contact me through here or not.
