    860 clutch disks

I just finished my 861 clutch replacement myself. Go ahead and take your medicine like a big boy. Shuck out from 3 to 4 hundred dollars and get a pre-assembled clutch pack with release bearing, pilot bearing, and double clutch assembly. You may want to check the release bearing carrier also...

    860 clutch

Been there done that! Go ahead and replace clutch assembly ,release bearing and probably release bearing carrier. It appears that the release bearing seized up. Its not a bad job, but time consuming

    1958 861 PTO problem

The PTO shaft and the bearing have a retainer ring to keep them in place. It sounds if the retainer ring on one or both of them maybe gone or broken. Fairly simple fix

    What is this?

In the second picture ,it appears that someone put the spacer between the pulley and the fan ,instead of behind the fan If you look closely you'll see the gap between the pulley and the fan.

    What is this?

There is normally a 1/2 to 34 spacer that is supposed to be behind the fan to space it out from the housing. Like someone else said the front bearing in the generator may be bad. If you find out the bearing is ok you should be able to find that spacer at any auto parts store where they often...

    4600 ford tractor hard cranking

I have a neighbor that has a 4600 Ford Diesel. The tractor runs flawlessly when cranked. The only two ways he can crank it is with just a very small shot of starting fluid, or pul it as little as ten feet and it fires right up. My question is does anyone think that a weak battery, and dragging...
