Why does my case diesel need starting fluid?

Sounds like the majority think its a fuel issue, ie. Pump, injectors, leak in the line etc. Worst case scenario is rings, rods and gravy... Or- several of you have commented on battery. Im going to start with battery, see if more power does the trick. If not, im going to replace a few fuel...

Thanks i will try it. Sounds like a workable plan. My tractor was like that too, so maybe it is the battery!

Why does my case diesel need starting fluid?

Rings, rods, and mains. Gravy. How much would you charge a fellow to do that job?

Why does my case diesel need starting fluid?

Only 1 12V battery. Bummer. Rings sound like an impossible job on the old case.

Why does my case diesel need starting fluid?

1959 case 800, used to only need starting fluid when it was cold out. Now, if the tractor sits for a couple days, Ill need to shoot a spray of ether just go get her to fire. Why is this happening?

New Holland Model 55 Hay Rake - INPUT NEEDED

Thanks Belgian. Great info everyone. Much appreciated. It sounds like this is a good rake at the right price. My 5 wheel new idea has been a nightmare, so looking forward to a good season.

New Holland Model 55 Hay Rake - INPUT NEEDED

Paul, Thank you. Very insightful. Is there anyway, other than wheel wobble - for me to forecast the above issues. I will use corn grease in the gear housing, was planning on using grease anyway instead of an oil, for seal leakage. Not liking the sound of the rubix cube you describe with...

New Holland Model 55 Hay Rake - INPUT NEEDED

Thanks jocco, I just want to make sure I'm not about to step on a landmine. I read that ground speed is recommended in the 2-8 mph range. Does that sound accurate to you?

I've been shopping for a good hay rake for a year. NH 55/256 bring around 1500 bucks in my AO. Found a nice model 55 with a good paint job, in working order with 200.00 worth of parts that come with it. (price 750.00) I'm planning on picking it up tomorrow, but need to know more about the 55...

That sounds like major repairs. i.e. splitting the tractor. Find a tractor that has working PTO and hydraulics.

    Gehl Haybines

Do any of you have experience with Gehl Haybines. I've got a line on a Gehl 1099 and it is in good shape. Things to look out for? Positives, negatives? Thanks

    Gehl 1099

Does anybody know anything about this model? I have been making hay with a NH469 for a couple years and have the chance to upgrade to this GEHL 1099. The unit is in good shape and the seller is asking 1800 What are some problems with this model, what things should I look for on the unit itself...
