    '81 F2 fuel restriction

    Try by-passing the priming pump. Have replaced many of those as they start sucking air or internal check valve is bad or has trash in it.

    Spray some good penetrating oil in it and use a fine wire or drill bit then compress air. Check it once in a while to insure it’s open.

    Right under the top cap you removed is a small hole to drain water and dust. Have worked on several that were blocked by rust and dirt.

    Cork crankshaft seals

    I rebuilt a Wisconsin 12 hp a few years ago. I soaked the cork seals in engine oil for a few hours before installing them. Still using engine-no leaks. David

    NOS Sparkplugs

    D89D plugs are commonly used in Fairbanks and Morse engines used in oilfield pumping engines. They have extended electrode to help with fouling problems.

    Detroit 1-81

    A 1-71 is a pretty rare engine. Certified Detroit Diesel mechanic back in 70’s and 80’s. Check with United Engines in OKC Oklahoma. They have a 1-71 on display. 405-947-3321
