    John Deere MT

Went back next day, got everything to come back on, lights and voltmeter, pulled the starter and once again everything went dead. Unhooked everything, took off starter button, ran 6V straight to starter post, and nothing so now I'm thinking the starter is shorted out. I guess that's more of a...

4010 with coolant in the oil.

My 3406 did this and fixing farmer has my answer. What I did was drop the oil pan, fill the radiator back up, and go to the house. Next morning the pan was catching water from #5 sleeve but it was still a major overhaul. At least I knew where to start but it's a good time to check everything...

    John Deere MT

well guys here I am again searching for knowledge. Doing some blade work and my MT shut off like it was tired. Still 6volt with cutout and the only fuse I know of is ok. I had nothing so back to barn for tools. I've got 6.5 at battery, 6.47 at points so not the battery. After jiggling the wires...

    Milky hydraulic fluid after change

Just a thought; Is there more than one drain plug? My 560 has 3. One main drain and the other two are like small sumps in the housing so if you don't drain them you've already got a gallon or so of old oil. My buddy has a 544 ,changed oil and had the same problem till he found the other drain...

    560 Hydraulics explained

Well I got the mower hooked up and moved the knob to single acting. It clicked like it was new and works as it should. pretty good for 65 YO huh! What did they change on the newer models that you don't have move any knobs or click any buttons to switch from single to double acting?

OK guys the Super C is running and I'm too happy to be embarrassed whether I should be or not ! As I said...

    super c wont fire

Thanks for the quick reply guys! It is 12 volt with resistor so I went to get a new one and now they have a coil with resistor built in so I bought and replaced that. I have fire to the points now but nothing to the plugs. Could it be a junk condensor right out of the box? I have another one but...

Thanks to you all. Exactly what Blackstack is talking about is what I'm afraid is going to happen since I don't know if these have ever been moved! We're gonna find out here shortly tho. Since I have found all you guru's a couple more questions if I may. My drawbar has started to leak off and I...

    560 Hydraulics explained

I just got a disc mower with a single acting cylinder and have never moved the control knobs. I know they are in double act mode but do they match the lever positions? In other words left knob to left lever and right knob to center lever??
