    oliver 88 standard old style

Most these I see are in the the $3500.+ range since they are a rare tractor to find. Couldn't buy one for under that for the last 10 years. If it is a sharp tractor and not restored you could be in the upper $4,000 range.

    Vista question

The G-1000 vista is a different rear end and there was also an update to the Vista in the angle of the pinion to ring gear angle. There was also an upgrade to the carrier unit for the ring gear to bolt to. G-1000 is way too light for the Vista series.

    Connecting rod siezing the motor

Are you sure all the rods were installed the correct way and one isn't backwards. Don't know if you replaced the pistons on the rods and maybe installed it wrong. I have come across some rods where someone in the past stamped the rods on wrong side. Rule of thumb is that the numbers on the rod...

    1850 oliver

That tractor would not have the GM unless some one installed it into a Wheatland frame. Sure it's not a 1950?? Don't have book handy to look up numbers. If you don't decide to buy it drop me an e-mail if you would please.

    Reline brake bands

Clutch Masters on Falls Ave, Waterloo Iowa. Phone # 800-363-9825. Nice fellow to work with. Haven't checked prices of linings from Korvis. They are excellent to work with and any local shop could rivet them on if you don't have the equipment yourself.

    oliver 4wd

I just purchased a 1900 Oliver MFD last week. It is by serial #a 1962. I need to check further, but the throttle is on the column. The front axles they used were Clark axles. I'm also looking to find to find the castings that bolt to the main engine tub of tractor, along with the frame work...

    950 brakes

You can order the linings from Agco dealers or send e-mail to Tribco in Cleaveland ,Ohio. I've not bought from them but was told they are some where around $70.00 per disc and that is a good price. Linings alone from Agco will run about $30.00 for each lining plus the rivets. [email protected]

    550 split

Eric make sure when and if you do replace the clutch disc: that you put the long side of drive hub towards the flywheel. It's not uncommon to see them put in wrong with long side facing away from fly wheel. With the long side out you will not be able to release when clutch is applied. Also you...

Seems like we had an article in our Oliver magazine some time back about that but not sure if they mentioned the build numbers. A friend of mine purchased one in Illinois 3-4 years ago for $3500. which was a good buy. Depends on total condition. I would like to purchase one to put beside my...

Interesting Oliver on ebay, 1900 MFWD

These 1900's were equipped with a Sabre plow used to plow in telephone cables usually. There were several of these sold but I'm sure a lot of them went to scrap by now. A friend of mine several years back when they were sold he had to do a lot of injector work to get them cranked up for more...

    Super 99 GM Value

Drove to St Louis to purchase another S-99 last fall. Tractor was like you describe yours to be. Tractor is probably the most sought after Oliver today. It sold for $16,000 to fellow from Indiana. It needed a lot of work to get it in shape. There were very few GM's built in the first year of...

3/17/12 TRIPOLI, IA FARM AUCTION from Machinery Pete's site

Sure like reading the comments from everyone about the sale. Two comments I'd have to say are "if you didn't want to buy it, why worry about what some body else paid". After all if you didn't buy it then you didn't have to pay for it. Secondly there weren't that many 2255 MFD's built so the...
