    1494 Fan Bolt Torque

Anybody know the spec is for these? I can't find it in my manual, and the radiator fan is one place that I like to know that I have the bolts torqued properly.

Case 1494 Top, (Sensing,) Link Question

Okay, thanks. Once I replace some AC components and fix some minor electrical issues, I'll be ready for her to hit the field. Thanks, again!

Case 1494 Top, (Sensing,) Link Question

Thanks, by the way, for all of the info. No regular heavy drawbar work for me. I am a livestock operation, and most of what I do is more pto oriented. Disc MoCos, balers, and the like. The heaviest pulling that a tractor sees around here is moving a loaded gooseneck hay trailer, pulling...

Case 1494 Top, (Sensing,) Link Question

You will definitely get no arguments from me on that one. An import top link is no comparison to the attachment point on this machine. Night and day. The tractor's build is far superior. Here's what the backhoe did to my Farmall 656's Cat 2 mount. One has to be very careful with it, as it...

Case 1494 Top, (Sensing,) Link Question

Gotcha. I was afraid of that. I was hoping to use this tractor to mount my Long Mfg. backhoe to. It broke the Cat 2 mounting bracket on my old IH 656, throwing me over the controls and onto the boom. I was hoping that the sensing springs on the 1494 might help to dampen some of the stress...

Case 1494 Top, (Sensing,) Link Question

Hello, all. I have recently purchased a Case/IH badged 1494. The lower links are Cat 2, however the top link mount seems to be Cat 1. I have checked around, and the 1494 is listed as being a Cat 2 tractor, (as well it should be.) Also, I can only find one part number on the Case/IH web...

    Cat 944 Track Loader?

That's a nice looking canopy you have there. Loader too, for that matter. Do the vertical members in the front interfere much with your working view? No criticism here, just curiosity...

    Cat 944 Track Loader?

Thanks. I am definitely looking forward to using it more extensively. Everything seems to be in really good shape except for the fuel system on the pony motor. After uncovering it from the vines that had covered it and checking the fluids, it started with barely a nudge from another loader...

    Cat 944 Track Loader?

Thanks. I was wondering what those holes were for. I was guessing that there may have been a canopy option that utilized them. They will make working on the machine much more convenient, as I don't ever work under an attachment that is held up by hydraulics alone. The side guards were not to...

    Cat 944 Track Loader?

Wow. That was seriously fast. Thanks. I guess that I am off in search of reference materials for it. It runs really well, save for the pony motor. It had been sitting for so long that you couldn't hardly see it for the honeysuckle....

    Cat 944 Track Loader?

Well, I'm back. I was unable to find any ID numbers, save for the one on the engine. It reads Traxcavator, Material Handler, 12A1899, Crawler Type, Caterpillar Tractor Co. Does this help? Seeing as how we all love pictures, I am attempting to attach some of those as well...

    Cat 944 Track Loader?

Thanks, guys. I will definitely be checking all three places as soon as I take delivery. I'll post again then, if not before, (I'm pretty excited about this machine.)

    Cat 944 Track Loader?

I am to take delivery either today or tomorrow of a Cat track loader. It is an older machine - not so old as to have cable lift on the bucket, but certainly not hydrostatic drive, either. It is marked as a 944 in what looks like it could be factory paint, but I can find no information on this...
