MF vs New Idea 3 point hay rake

I don't understand the need for using ground speed PTO. Run in whatever gear is appropriate and adjust PTO speed with the throttle.

    Help with an Oliver

I don't know, but I don't think the diesel version had a frame, so I have to wonder what all else is different.

    Help with an Oliver

Sometimes, but man, it's hard to justify spending hours searching for rinkydink parts for somebody when you could be spending that time making thousands doing a job.

    Help with an Oliver

You took the words right out of my mouth. It says right on Import Tractor's site, no parts for 1250 gas. Unlike most things built for military use where they were built to high standards, those Italian miliary surplus engines were junk. Somebody had posted on the Oliver forum not long ago that...

Now would be a good time for me to quit.

Not saying this is always the case because I know it's not, but do you think some of those nice cars might belong to other folks taking the recipients there to help them out? I had a friend who's passed away now, but he was a barber and was on the county welfare board when there was such a...

    Super 55 seat rebuild.

It's been a day or two since I rebuilt one, but no, no springs. The rubber is just attached to the steel discs on each side. It's supposed to be one solid unit. The new one will be. Unscrew that T handled bolt out of there and then from what I remember, it involved a lot of heat and a lot of...

    1550 Hydraulic Pump

The loader specials were 1555s though, unless he made a typo. Weren't there some depth stop systems that didn't have a rock shaft?

    How to secure empty hitch?

Olivers and Whites have a tab welded on each arm, then there's a real stout spring that holds them together. I used a 3pt drawbar to hold them together on my 4040 Deere. A rubber strap isn't stout enough for heavy arms. My biggest White doesn't have the tabs, so when the quick hitch isn't on it...

Now would be a good time for me to quit.

I had a friend in the dairy business who had a pretty sizble operation, worked with MSU in some experimental testing and what not. He'd had a deal with his wife that they'd sell out when they reached a certain age and they did. The wife and I were out for supper one night after they sold out and...
