    Oliver 80

Hi The K.D. engine used a Schebler TTX-18 and the H.C. engine used a Schebler TTX-19. I don't know who would handle a kit for those carbs. Good Luck Russ

    Straight Pipe Question

Hi. The black liquid on start up is condensation(water). The cooler the outside temp. the more they will sober, until they are warmed up. If it continues after the engine is warm there are other issues. A curved pipe will direct the moisture from the tractor. Cheers Russ

How to handle rear tractor tires with fluid?

Hi I got a little lucky I was able to pick up a vacuum pump at an auction sale for $30.00 and got the hoses and fittings for about a $100.00. I store the fluid in plastic barrels. You can use gravity to do the same thing but you have to lift the tire higher than your container. I remember my...

Rear Wheel and Tire question - 1941 Oliver 80 Standard

Hi First of all I don't want to start any arguments or cause any hard feelings. I have 2 parts Oliver 80's with one hub removed, off each they are both splined, and I picked up a set of hubs that are also splined they came from a different tractor. Mr. precision you are right if you take of...

Rear Wheel and Tire question - 1941 Oliver 80 Standard

Hi. In my experience which is limited, on the hub that is presently on the tractor the smallest rim size will be a 28 in, so you will have to use the same style of split rim only without the 3 in piece in it, and use a 14.9 x 28 or 13.6 x 28 tire(new size). If you can't find a split rim that...

Rear Wheel and Tire question - 1941 Oliver 80 Standard

Hi Mr. precision Your last post prompted me to dig into my parts book. The standard 80's that had 24 and 26 in rubber used the same hub part # D-705-V the ones that had 28 in rubber used hub part # D-705-W. So my previous post about using a rim off of w4 or case D will be wrong. The rim part...

Rear Wheel and Tire question - 1941 Oliver 80 Standard

Hi The later Oliver 80's used a 26 in drop center rim. The tire size was 13 x 26 and the new size is 14.9 x 26. They used the same rim as on a w 4 ihc or a Case D and probably some others. The 13 x 26 rim is fairly easy to come by and used tires are a little more common. I am not sure what...

    Generator recommendations

Hi I have always wanted a gas driven welder, about 10 years ago I bought one that has a 10,000 watt generating capacity. So now I have a welder and back up power. It is a gas burner so I keep at least a barrel of fresh gas around in the winter. The longest I have to run it is about 7 hours...

    Converting 720D to electric start

Hi I converted my 720 to electric start I put two 12 volt batteries under the seat. I found converting to electric start was cheaper than rebuilding the starting engine as it required a total rebuild.

Need to exterminate the Wild rose

Hi I have had good luck on roses with a product call Tordon 101 made by Dow. This product has 2-4-D in so if you have thistles it will get them too. An other product that has worked roses and brush along fence lines is a product call grazon I am not sure who makes it. If you have sandy soil...

    Oliver 80 surging

Hi I have had that trouble too. On the carb side I drilled out the holes in the linkage and put in bigger pins to take out some of the slack, and it helped. Then I readjusted the linkage under the cover on the mag side. Mine was a little lose if I remember right.

    MD injectors

Hi An old machanic introduced me to this method. Disconnect the diesel lines and back the nuts that hold the injectors in about 4 turns, Set the engine to diesel mode and then roll the engine over with the starter. I have used this method on a WD 9, and the precup even broke lose. Cheers Russ

What can you tell me about a Deere 2120?

Hi I have had a 2120 for about 25 years, mine was built in Germany and the engine was built in France. It was pretty tired when I got it. I rebuilt the engine, hyds and clutch. I have an acerage and used it to feed horses and a general chore tractor. Once I got it in shape it has been...
